Unseen by the companions, but clearly heard, the eastern door of Sweartmereseld splinters.  A roar of triumph from the trolls are answered by a furious cry and a swashing of blades against shields from within, as if the beasts were assaulting a hall filled with broken bells.  Be it ever so brief, new life has been breathed into the fire in the hearts of the folk of the Tarn.

:ooc: Sadly, that doesn't raise his result above its original 15 (the '2' dice are discounted after Hathcyn hit the Weariness threshold last round).  Do you want to use another advantage die, or a Hope point?

:ooc: Yes, sorry. It's a pain in the arse to update the character sheets every time someone gets a bump or scratch, so I basically just do it for AP and use the forum threads while a fight is going on.

:ooc: Esgalwen is in a bit of a predicament here with her :zz: state. I was thinking about a Rally, but my Inspire is only a 2d and that doesn't give me great return on the investment. I think her best choice here is to reduce the number of opponents she faces, so she will continues as is with a two-handed attack on the cackling orc.  [<

I will roll the :+~: test again for you, Paul. If it is incorrect, feel free to ignore it.

She dodged and parried, side stepping and maneuvering away from the orcs that attacked. One wore a grim, rusted helmet and she felt his bent blade slash into her leather armor causing her to catch her breath. Sweat and blood ran down her forehead stinging her eyes. Esgalwen was beginning to feel the weight of her sword, now heavy in her hand.

The broad-grinned orc that cackled maniacally stepped in close and she took the advantage, gritting her teeth and stabbing with Nimronyn. The blade pierced its neck and a terrible gurgling replaced the laughter. She twisted the sword and was disgusted by the sound of popping vertebrae, and then yanked it free. The horrid creature fell lifeless to the ground

Near her, Esgalwen watched her remaining helmed opponent strafe to her left looking for any weakness in the woman's guard.

Grimbeorn sees the tides beginning to turn in the local engagement but concern tempers any excitement at the breeching of the settlement by the trolls.  The creatures in front of him are all but keep him away from his friends within and it burns within him.  "Fly if you value your filthy hides more than your brethren.  You cannot withstand the Bear of the North!"

:ooc: Would love to Rally but think we can survive this encounter but once we take on some trolls, it will be more important ;)
