"Wolfslayer, we must move swiftly! Stronger and more dangerous beasts beset the hall!"

Circumstances dictate I need to move to an open stance, we need to slay and weariness is dragging me down. Hmmmm I have one on me left. Let's embrace the fey mood. Forward Stance!

Hathcyn sensed that this was the desperate hour. The moment all the dats before had been leading too. He pressed his attack mindless of the consequences.

The longspear had once been a weapon of mounted warriors. For those who had a moment to spare they could only imagine the devastation it would cause while mounted with the force of a horse behind it. The Beorning sunk the leafshaped blade to the crossbar into the orc. The sharp point even exited the rear of his armor. Using his foot as leverage Hathcyn rose the spear upright and like a bloody banner the orc hung there a moment before Hathcyn flung the beast back to the ground and off of his spear.

Her breathing was now ragged, but her fury was still all-consuming and Esgalwen would not relent. A sudden movement above and she looked to see Lindwine sitting atop the roof, haggard and pale. The Ranger snarled and rushed the helmed orc with intent to end this now.

"YOU WILL NOT STAY ME FROM THE DOOR AND MY FOLK!"

:ooc: Well, it's not in a hurry to die, so it will.  It only reduces the Endurance loss to 13, though.

In potentially brighter news, Lindwine picks the same orc as her target:

:ooc: Well, that's worth spending a Hope on to make it a hit - Lindwine's Body 4 means that even Hideous Toughness won't save it.  Plus, it needs a Protection roll (TN 14):

Like a falling star, Nimronyn crashes down upon the orc's iron helm, staggering it and driving it to its knees.  Dark blood oozes from an unseen wound to drip from its cheek-guards, and for a moment it seems as if it will fall, but with a snarl it shakes its head and begins once more to rise.  As it pulls itself up on the shaft of its spear, Lindwine looses an arrow with a wordless cry.  Once again, the thick metal of its helm is struck by Mannish weapons and once again it deflects the blow, but the head within can withstand no more.  The orc's eyes roll back in its head, and Esgalwen slices through its throat as it drops to the soil.

Grimbeorn and the two remaining orcs trade blows, the young chieftain trusting to Elven craftsmanship as he uses his shield to deflect the spears of the enemy.
