Grimbeorn outwardly shrugs off the blow and dives back into it with these wretches.  Inwardly, though, his lungs burn when taking breaths from the blow.  "Finish them now, then catch my breath," he thinks.

:ooc: Tate's character sheet says he is WEARY. Is that true?

If he is, then his attack failed.

If not, he hits with a :%: success for 10 :<3: loss to his opponent.

:ooc: Whoops - missed that!  That's a hit for Tate.

Grimbeorn's first attack is not only a hit, but a piercing blow!  So here's a Protection roll for the Toft-man:

Rolled 3d6+1 : 5, 6, 5 + 1, total 17

:ooc: And having just checked your post, you were attacking the already-wounded man.  So that finishes him off.

Finally through the stockade, Anar utters the war cry of his people as he joins the fight: "Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!"

Grimbeorn dispatches one of his adversaries in an uncharacteristically quiet, almost businesslike, fashion as Anar's blow cleaves through a spear-shaft and mail to bite deep into another man's chest.  Both fall, their blood mingling with that already shed on this dolorous afternoon.

Hathcyn did his best to keep both with Grimbeorn, but far enough away do that the great man could work his great axe. The small hand axe of the standard bearer attempted to block and deflect the blows that were aimed at him.

:ooc: my axe skill sucks so I'm going to fight defensively and use that one skill die to up my parry. And hope for a 12 on the fate die to hit.

Though some of the Blood-moon warriors have fallen, the remainder are far from beaten, and those still standing press the counter-assault.  Grimbeorn sees the flash in the eyes of the lone man standing against him as his second strike goes wide, exposing his unprotected right side...

:ooc: The Blood-moons carry on the fight!  Since Grimbeorn rolled a :~~:, his remaining enemy will automatically make a called shot if he hits.

... but he turns back just in time to deflect as a spear-thrust that might otherwise have ended him.  Hathcyn is knocked back, taking an axe-blow on the haft of his own weapon and momentarily locking the two axe heads together, but the bear banner never wavers.
