All quiet on the Danube.

I was playing on Discord for a bit. A little bit of 2d20 Conan and Dune. Those have kinda fallen by the wayside. My in person game I was running was semi-shelved when a couple of the players were either moving or too busy.

Oh hey, I'm re-reading Dune at the moment.  I also made the mistake of counting on my fingers and discovering that I first read it (in 1993) closer to its original publication date than to the present day.  I think some of my beard turned grey just from discovering that.

Sorry I had been on a cruise for the last week and a half.  I forgot to let you know I was going.

So I wanted to do a quick straw poll on the ending of this adventure, which at the moment looks like it's going to be a bit of a downer.  I don't mind this at all - it's good for the overall emotional modulation and it's in keeping with the 'shit gets worse and worse' theme of the campaign as a whole.  On the other hand, this Adventuring Phase has dragged on for quite a while, and I understand if you want a nice, upbeat climax to stick a full stop on the end.

With that in mind, I'm proposing to end the adventure once Hathcyn gives his answer, but if the consensus of the group is that you want a fun fight before we stop, I can be persuaded to do that instead.

:ooc: There having not been much response, I'll let the current scene play out and then draw a curtain on what's been a looooooooong Adventuring Phase.

I am fine with the current phase continuing. I think a show down at the Ford is implied with everything that is going on.

I'm curious about whether, as I expect, Viglund lied or Hathcyns house is burned down.

Whenever Tolkien mentions someone laboring long and in secret it usually means something bad will come out of it. This seems to be a constant in all of his writings that good only comes from openness and collaboration.

I spent the afternoon today laboring on our NPC chart. I started with Chapter 5 and then went through the pages to make a list of all the NPCs that I found and where they were introduced. I then went to our old NPC spreadsheet and merged the two documents.

I dont recall where all the pdfs are for chapters 1-4, but I am starting from 5 and the previous thread and continuing, my now open, labor. We'll see how far I can get.

I just took everything you captured, Tom, and incorporated it into the DoM_characters file with formatting and alphabetization.

Not sure about any PDF's of chapter 1-4, though.

I thought we had saved chapters 1-4 somewhere or were they lost in a server crash?

I'm pretty sure I still have them somewhere.  I'll look later this afternoon.

I did not consolidate the chapters of Darkening of Mirkwood into PDF's, like I did with the Triumph of the Witch-king. There have been no server crashes or data loss. Everything that came before Paul's taking over as Loremaster is either in this forum or on my hard drive.

All of the DOM chapters are saved in the Previous Chapters group.

Well, I guess I did compile some Darkening of Mirkwood... but that's just chapter 1. I have chapter 2 completed, too, but 3 is partially done and unformatted, while 4 is non-existent. I did start chapter 5, as I wanted the battle against the beast of Mirkwood.

Either way, Tom - you will find the details you are looking for in the Previous Chapters section of our forum.
