Hathcyn knew that this fight would not be won by strength of arms. They could not defeat the spider on their own, but sue did not know this. The Longspear hoped that the audacity of their coming here and attacking her would have cast a seed of doubt in her confidence. Hathcyn sought to make that seed grew.

The Beorning stood to his full height, leaf bladed spear like fire even in the dim light of the wizard. He brought the silver rimmed ram horn of the mountain to his lips and blew a great blast. A sound not heard in the depths of the forest for perhaps an Age, if ever. The golden fox ring glittered and the warrior stood as if sprung from the tales of yore.

Though the note of Hathcyn's horn is brief, and a slight-sounding thing in this drear and dreadful place, Arbogast lends his voice to his friend's efforts.  "You are undone, spider!" he shouts.  "We, who have ended one of the great beasts of the deep wood, will end you here today!"

:ooc: Arbogast will use Battle to try the same thing (TN 19, because intimidating something like Tylquin is HARD!):

:ooc: And whoop-de-do, Tylquin loses a whole Hate point.

On the other hand, I'll tag Arbogast's 'Hardened' trait for an AP.

:csu: for that, and for Hathcyn's hope point from before the combat got started.

Words and horns were put to the test, but Tylquin would also need to feel their sting. Having replaced Nimronyn with her sturdy bow, Esgalwen loosed an arrow sighted on one of the beast's unblinking eyes.

The strands of the web seemed to drink up the notes of his horn. Failing to conjure up an image of Tulkas again ridding across Middle-earth Hathcyn lets the horn swing from it's cord. Now will be the time of spear work, and the courage if men.
