Edelyn, the daughter of the refugees chieftain, Rathvith and Mothtaric, her two henchmen.

Aart and Galan, riders of the West, Artamir, rider of the East.

Gárulf led them away from Edoras and slowly the golden hall faded from sight. To the south, the White Mountains rose and stretched as far as the eye could see. Before them an looking north was naught but a sea of green - the plains of Rohan.

The Company passed the miles with the Rohir guiding them back to where Edelyn's people camped. Forward of their small host was their scout - the Eastfold-man - Artamir. Close in but ever-watchful was Egilhir. The other two Rohirrim kept an eye for dangers, but also food, while Raghnall rode in the center alongside Edelyn.

Gárulf could not help but smile to himself, as the Bree-man laughed and joked with the young woman. He is good in a fight, but I think the man would rather entertain and woo the ladies. He doesn't appear to have no other damnable skill!

The rogue chuckled to himself at his silent thought and spurred his horse forward. His other concerns were the two Westfold-men - Aart and Galan - they were a grim pair and their treatment of the refugees thus far had been unpleasant at most. Gárulf would keep a close eye on them, as their intent seemed ill.

If we needed two Fatigue tests, it looks like my second roll triggers a HAZARD.

 :ooc: If and when it becomes necessary – which I am sure it will, Roderic will take on hunting duties. I am sure there are others with good hunting skills.

Anarion

He keeps eye on the horizons as he rides fairly centre to the company. He'll occassional move closer to Edelyn to talk with the young woman a little more of her people and occassionally move to the front to speak with Garulf regarding the land that they are traveling through.

Raghnall soon had even the two northmen smiling and talking a bit. They had hard lives, and like the Rohrir were not soon to take to strangers and outsiders. There was something about the Breelander though. He seemed to fit in with any crowd, and made all assembled feel like old friends. Whether is was the nature of this people, or the effect of long living with Hobbits no one knew. For they themselves were not a well traveled people either. Like the rest of the north west time seemed to have forgotten this folk and their ways.

"The sun shines, the grass grows, and I'm surrounded by a cart over flowing with food. Why this makes me feel like singing! Seldom is a voice raised so loud in the wild, and my time in the burg of the king was so short I never stretched my voice."

The horse trotted on, the reigns held almost haphazard and casually in his hand. Raghnall thought for a moment, worked out some of the parts he had forgotten in his head and then began to sing. He addressed his words to no one in particular, the open air and the grass alone seemed to accompany him and bend to listen.

Rich Owen will tell you,

Raghnall laughed. "Ahhh Combe, it's a small place, but the girls are pretty and there's always a fire. Lots of wood cutters there, seldom was I there since my people are masons, but is a nice spot and the beer is good."

Gárulf cringed as Raghnall's song hit a crescendo and the Bree-man sang loudly.

The Rohir was riding only a few feet ahead of the others and though it pleased him that they all laughed at the merry tune, there was danger.

"You sing too loud, Raghnall. This is not a tavern and you've no spirits in hand."

"Oh, always fey and gloomy, eh, Gárulf," was the Bree-man's joking reply.

"Maybe so," said Gárulf, "but we ride upon the plain and though it might seem empty, many dangers exist - many threats watch. Besides, if there are any prairie fowl or other game, you will scare them before our hunts-man can make the kill. We have a wagon full of foods, but fresh game is always better."

Raghnall looked at Edelyn, "This one...I have lived in his camp for many months now. I can tell you, his mood does not get much better." The northerner laughed heartily as they plodded on, bringing mirth to all.

Even Gárulf, guiding from the fore of the company, could not help but smile.

Roderic had kept to himself to himself as the party readied itself for the journey. He was more than happy to enjoy the ride, the scenery and the warmth of the weather. He was amused by the bantering conversations of those in the party who were already well acquainted. As he heard the party leader Gárulf mention hunting he thought it would be a good time to make himself better known to the young Rohir guide. Roderic eased Arroch up beside Gárulf and smiled at the man at the head of the party, he leaned across his horses neck to offer his hand. 'Hail Gárulf,' said Roderic, 'did I overhear you mention hunting?' 'Perhaps I can be of assistance and start to earn my place in this party'.

Nashan

You all fulfill your roles perfectly. So far, travelling in the plains of Rohan has been a rather pleasant experience. The presence of Rohirrim riders ensured you friendly faces, shelters and food whenever you came across farmers or villagers. And when none could be found, watchtowers made a decent place to rest. Only once you had to pick food from the carts.

Raghnall made tremendous progress in lightening the mood of Galan and Aart, although they keep defiant toward the three refugees. Evelyn also played her part. As you camp, she often tells you about the life they led and the exodus they went through these last three years. Emotions often overwhelm her as she tells about those they had to leave behind, buried in anonymous graves in foreign soils. She seems genuinely weary of traveling, her hopes for the future thinning as their possibilities of settlement reduce with each passing year.

:ooc: Make an Insight roll TN 16. Those who succeed notice that also she may not be hiding something from you, she uses her tears to evade delicate subjects.
