Hey... sorry for my delay. Like I said, just wasn't expecting to jump in and it's a bit hectic this week.

Anyway, the post is up. I need to edit a couple of sheets as I think I made the common mistake of thinking favoured body score to bonus damage with favoured weapon skills.   :-[

I also don't have Kilic's character sheet up... if you really just want three characters, then we can just drop him and I can edit the post.

Telcontar

I think there would need to be a significant change in the encounter to change the initiative and that would allow the possability for the heroes to use command or the badies to use hate to switch it.

Hey Doug,

To answer your question from Round 9, my hope is to take Tate into the next adventure phase. Though I'm willing to RP Kol for this battle if that makes more sense or is easier for the story.

Otherwise, I'm good to play Tate for this battle.

Should I be jumping in here on round 9? Or am I waiting on you to roll for attacks for the Wargs first?

Also, I should have the Dorwinion warrior up tonight... do you have Rich H's pdf on Dorwinion culture?

Peace,
Ayrn

Cool beans.  Can we look forward to seeing more of Tate in the future as well?

Yep! That is what I was trying to say... I'm hoping to carry Tate over. (though Beranwine the Beorning Scout and friend of Grimbeorn is temping too! Always so many good options!! It's my ADD downfall!  :'( )

Anyway.... Yes, Tate continues (unless he dies here)
Peace,

Tihs current story arc has changed the way I view TOR. Previously we were steam rolling over everything that Doug has thrown at us, but that is not the case here. I am starting to see a deeper relationship to endurance and not just a protetion from being wounded. Weariness is also pretty effetive, I didnt notice it before I think because the skill gap between hale and fatigued at lower levels is not as great. This is more pronounced with a character with greater skill that should easily be able to do something, but cant because he needs a nap.

Ayrn,

I have sent an invite to all the characters you just created on the RPG profiler. If you can go to the EDIT link on each character and accept the invite to the TOR campaign, so I have LM rights.

Thanks!

I have all the pics, too, so once you do, I will add them to the sheets and update them in Roll20. I made some tokens already, but it is an easy swap.

Thanks, again!

Quote from: tomcat on Jan 18, 2018, 08:31 AM:ooc: Paul will be taking over from me as Loremaster for a bit. I am not sure how long he will want to run, but the idea is that we might be changing PC's a bit and explore the Darkening of Mirkwood from another area -or- we keep who we have and the story continues.

My thoughts are, the aftermath of this combat is going to be very draining to these heroes. They will have given much of themselves in defense of their world. If they are put on hiatus while Paul runs, then that gives them the time to be at hearth and home to recoup the losses they have taken. If they are the main characters of Paul's next few chapters, then we will need to find ways to heal both body and soul.

I repeat - the Werewolf of Mirkwood is said to be a fell-spirit of the First Age - no one is getting out of this easily. Hell, even Gandalf died and went back to Valinor to heal when he fought a First Age spirit.

So...let's see what happens!  ;)  ;D

Thanks, Doug.  As I've said to one or two of you already, my plan is to keep the regular story going - we have some strong characters that are well tied in to the world around them, and I don't want to make people suddenly focus on other things.  So, with that in mind, I encourage everyone to keep the characters they already have.  I'll need Grimbeorn, in particular, to hang around.  'You don't get to opt out of this' is going to be a bit of a theme for him.

Otherwise, a bunch of y'all need to take Confidence as your virtue at this Year's End to reset your hope back to MAX+2. Tate ain't interested in journeying with a bunch of miserable misfits always crying all the time!  :P

On a not-unrelated note, I submit the following as a new Fellowship Phase Undertaking:

Visit the Bracegirdle Steading
If any of you ever pass through Bag End, tea is at four. There's plenty of it. You are welcome any time. Don't bother knocking!

Any member of the fellowship from T.A. 2947 to 2952 who is spending a Fellowship Phase near Beorn's House may choose to visit Bandobras Bracegirdle at his new home in the nearby downs.  The companion spends time with an old friend, sharing stories and ale, and recovers up to three points of Hope the first time this undertaking is chosen.  Subsequent visits in future Fellowship Phases recover one point of Hope.

EDIT: I can't be the only one who thinks that the picture of a Beorning settlement in the core book has some obvious Hobbit influence in its architecture, can I?

That was a really cool way of connecting and incorporating the story so far into game mechanics, Paul. Nice!

Fyi: going on camping trip this weekend... Won't be back til Sunday, so Grimbeorn will be silent unless you need him to not be.

That will give me some time to work up a post and to touch base with Paul on what he wants to do with the next chapter.
