Booth took the glancing blow of the clanker's blaster fire on his thigh. A grim smile was hidden behind the clone sergeant's helmet. First blood. It was bound to happen somewhere amidst the firefight... a lucky shot would get past his honed defenses, giving him a sting to help remember he was alive, that he was flesh and blood, that this was really life and death.

Raising his rifle once more, Booth targeted the droid and returned fire.

:ooc: Attacking the droideka with assault rifle.

"Blasted shields," Booth muttered as he watched the droideka absorb most of the blaster bolt. Through the comm, he continued he encouragement to his team. "Let's hustle up, boys. They don't call us "Derecho" for nothing. Time to show them what swift and dealy really looks like."

:ooc: I believe Martel and Haywire should also gain a +1 to REF this round due to Cover Fire.

Also, is the Droideka at SR 10 or SR 15... I thought I read something from the last round that it was at SR 10?

Callowmoryne

:ooc: sorry guys been super busy. I'm gonna move to the group this round. Post some dialogue later when I get a break

Zilfallion

Once again Haywire seemed to act as a magnet for enemy fire today.  Grimacing at the rather painful blaster bolts from the droideka firing fully automatic at him and Booth.  Ignoring the pain as much as possible, he snapped off another shot at the Droideka

Ranged Hvy Blaster Pistol+PBS 1d20+9 : 16 + 9, total 25

Dmg if hit 3d8+5 : 7, 8, 4 + 5, total 24

:ooc: Yes, the droid's shields were down to SR 10, -5 for Smashed into door, -5 for your (NPC'd) attack last round.  The damage calculation is actually such that If I'd spent that force point last round, it'd have taken exactly enough damage to be dead right now with your most recent shot.

On a side note, having problems staying asleep for more than 45-60 minutes at a time the past few days.  It's been really rather annoying and has me feeling rather off.

Callowmoryne

:ooc: scratch that, I will fire on droideka and take my chances here another round

Ranged sniper rifle* +10 (4d8+7; CT -1) with Deadeye and Debilitating Shot (requires Aim)

Rolled 1d20+10 : 9 + 10, total 19

Damage "literally"
Rolled 4d8+7 : 3, 5, 6, 2 + 7, total 23

:ooc: "Basically" you guys blow the crap out of the droid in this round.

I will start a new round once necessary, but feel free to dialogue here until we do.

Blaster fire from Booth, Haywire and Longshot impacted the remaining Droideka almost simultaneously. The droid's shields were easily overwhelmed and its structure was torn to pieces by the super heated gas bolts. Just like that, silence fell on the landscape.

From its position, the B-2 lead unit that was in charge of the second patrol watched. Again he saw Longshot's attack stretch out from the hill on which he took cover. The lead unit waved to his companions and they continued their path along the foot of the hills.

Inside the Relay Station, Har'zic and his troops were in position. He tapped the console in front of him and the mobile holo-projector began to glow. In the glow now stood a man whose face was hidden by a heavy cloak. The Dashade bowed to the man who only gave the slightest recognition of the deference. He spoke, "By now the Republic Troopers will be at your door. Defend the station to your best, but let them have it in the end. I want the Republic fleet to fall on that planet in due course, at which time I will have the counterstrike fleet in place. Grievous will deal a blow to the Jedi that they will not forget."

"As you say, my Lord." Har'zic pointed to the lead commando droid and signaled it to hold the passage to the last. The Republic soldiers had to be entering here and he would make them pay with blood for the Relay Station - that is, until they were ultimately destroyed in orbit above.

"Well that was a little disappointing," muttered Martel, kicking a scrap of the ruined droid.  "Damage assessment. Anyone need assistance?" he asked looking around at his team.

Haywire seeing the droideka go down put up his pistol, and re-gripped his blaster rifle.  The fight so far had been fairly rough on him.  "A bit beat up but still functional, and ready to keep going.  You know, that idea about being sent to get a target on a pleasure yacht is starting to look more appealing."  Taking a bit of time while they were stopped to take a look at some of the damage he'd taken.  Lots of minor burns, and a bit of significant damage from some of those direct hits he'd taken.  He could probably take another couple shots, but really wouldn't mind getting patched up soon.  "You know, I really love this armor sometimes."

:ooc: You guys have the momentum, but I need you all to decide on your next course of action otherwise you will lose it. I don't want to play it for you but I think Aryn is still out on business. I will give it until tomorrow.

The B2 battledroid leader brought his squad to the base of hill designated as "H" on the Republic Commandos' holomap. With a wave, he ordered the B1's to commence the climb so that they could catch the clone sniper unawares.

On the mountain, in front of the durasteel door, Booth grabbed one of the droideka's appendages and pushed it aside so that he might get closer to the door. He looked at the Jedi commander and Haywire, "We have two choices, sir. Either you cut this door open with your lightsaber or Haywire starts unpacking his demos. I think we are all fine for now and can worry about opening medpacs once this job is done."

"Alright, men, we move forward."  With a double snap-hiss, the padawan's lightsabers ignite.  The usual hum accompanied with them swinging into action.

:ooc: Hammer is still headed back to cover Longshot and make sure that the other patrol is handled.  Unless he's ordered elsewhere, that's the plan he's sticking with.

:ooc: To be honest, I'm a little bit more worried about what's inside the base than 1 patrol of B1/B2s myself. I'm not sure if having half our team out of position for several rounds after breaching won't come back to haunt us.

tomcat

:ooc: I am in Tennessee until tomorrow but will get a post up when I get home tomorrow. I like the player communication going on out of character, but feel free to dialogue to each other in character to decide what you guys are doing with the team split.

Booth will be leading the trio into the now open door when I post tomorrow, so communicate as needed.
