The Halfling knew he was running out of time. The light still shown forth, but already the Hobbit felt the weariness and pain of his injuries knibbling on the edge of his awareness. Soon they would break through again and the troll would then over master him. At the moment the troll knew none of this, only the fear of the light so once more with one last attempt the Hobbit pressed his attack.

I am going to say yes, Matt.

The troll growled again as Bandy's sword cut into its hide, but it was evident the Hobbit could not get in a significant strike. He was not wounding the beast, and he knew not exactly how long the Stone of Ardillon would last him. For now, though, the troll cowered in the corner from the diminutive scholar.

Outside, Rorin and Esgalwen heard the sounds of struggle within and it only made them work harder at the load-bearing stone. The Dwarf dug his feet into the dirt and pushed with all the force his stout frame could muster. Both were pleased when the stone moved slightly out of its former position and a crack was now evident. Esgalwen pushed the end of her wooden lever into the new opening and wedged the stone some more.

Eclecticon

His breath recovered, Arbogast lends the strength of his wiry arms to the efforts to bring down the hut.  With Rorin's expert eye, Grimbeorn's strong back and Esgalwen's keenly-placed lever, the work goes quickly and the light of Bandy's stone soon shines from several large cracks in the walls.  "Get out, Bandy," he shouts, as stones begin to tumble and the log-roof to shift.

The four companions brace themselves for the final pull that will bring the light of the sun to the troll...

:ooc: ...which it seems Arbogast won't be providing.

Out of interest, Doug, you mentioned that Arbogast became aware of something before the start of the fight.  It obviously wasn't relevant while blood was being shed, but is it useful for the current situation at all?

:ooc: It shall be, Paul. I will let you know when I add it to the narrative.  ;)

I messed up, too, on the aggregate total. I included Esgalwen's 11 roll which did not achieve the necessary TN 14.

Aggregate is now 60 / 80.

I updated Grimbeorn for the  :vv: point.

:ooc: Cool, thanks.  Just wanted to make sure - you have a lot on your mind right now and it'd be an easy thing to forget.
