One last thing - from your description, it's a bearded axe.  I'm guessing that it doesn't have the mechanical benefit of the Woodmen's cultural reward (p 118)?

  the way I see it, a bearded axe is a bearded axe - not sure there would be much difference between any two.

I would think functionality would be the same.
