Situation: PC's engage a speeder truck column in an attempt to rescue Kaida's sister - this is a SURPRISE round, PC have free attack.

ALL Modifiers (situational, physical, weariness, wound conditions):


  • All PC/NPC's will suffer a -5 penalty for firing into any melee, unless they are the ones in the melee or have the Precise Shot feat.
  • Darkness - PC's suffer a -5 to Perception checks and a -2 to combat unless equipped with low-light gear
  • Anyone who has LOS to Kaida (or any of the leaders) gets +1 To Hit this entire encounter due to Born Leader talent
  • Farok has an additional +20 hit points for the duration of this encounter - all damage come from these hit points first.

And just like that, the battlefield was empty of targets. The stormtroopers could be seen running and the prisoner truck was beginning to get up to speed. The team's hopes were flagging - they had to do something fast.

They could pursue the truck, or flee themselves - but soon reinforcements would arrive.

Kaida returned to Betty.

As she approached, the droid whirred softly and targeted her with its guns, running through its targeting algorithms to determine if she were friend or foe.

"Betty, it's me," she said quickly as she slowed the bike next to the camouflaged droid. She hoped the voice and facial recognition they had programmed in was sufficient to stop the thing from blasting her. "And you don't need to do that every time!"

Sweat beaded on her forehead until the killing machine finally lowered its guns.

"Come on! I need you to help follow that vehicle and provide cover while we disable it, and engage any fleeing enemies or threats in range. If we take too long, you're going to have more targets than you can handle."

:ooc:
Move action - she returns to the droid. Swift action - gives verbal commands for it to follow and engage. Standard action - sets off on her bike after the fleeing vehicle.

Posterboy

As the enemies' speeder moved out of the way for Abby's Arrow, the Arkanian slipped her speeder by and kicked in the accelerator. "Hold on, SAM! We're not letting that truck get away!"

Dad, I hope you're in there. I'm coming for you! Just hold on...

:ooc:Abby is spending both move actions to pursue the fleeing truck. She'll attempt to pass by Farok (in case he wants to jump on board) and run over SO2 in her pursuit.

Farok had moved up along side of the transport. He knew that time was running out for the rescue attempt. The locals had been massacred and the fall out of that would be a long time in correcting itself. The Imperial forces were disorganized and beat, but they had the ability to not only reinforce, but also call up Galatic assets to reinforce their positions. For the companions this was a one time attempt, one chance to achieve their goals. In all likelihood the Empire would just execute all the people on that transport whether they knew who the target was or not. Prisoners from a political camp could be moved, but if the chance existed that someone else wanted them and had the means to try and get them the Empire would not let them try twice.

Farok reached out with his new arm and grabbed the transport. He knew that even though the wiring and servos may tear at the jolt, he was blessed with not feeling the pain of the sudden dislocation. The quick personal thought that if he lost this arm there may not be enough left to install another flashed through his mind. He dismissed it. The new prostatic arm grabbed the transport. He debated slicing into the transport with his light saber but knew that even a hole in the vehicle would not give him the time to do what he needed to do. Another thought flashed into his mind. The vehicle was picking up speed.  He knew that size wise he could move it with the force, but he wasn't sure if he could wrest it from its present course by sheer will. Instead a more subtly plan revealed itself. Instead of trying to stop the vehicle or wrest its mass from the direction it was moving he would try a softer approach. Reaching out with the force he attempted to move the vehicle, not in a lifting or grip way. Attempting to do so dramatic a move would be more difficult. Instead the failed jedi attempted to ride the vehicle into the ground like a rabid bull, all he needed to do was shove its nose in the dirt. He held on and with his will attempted to dip its nose into the ground so that its very momentum would work to drive it into the ground and cause it to bury itself and spin into a stop.

:ooc: If I am reading the rules right this is a grapple check, but for your consideration I am not trying to wrestle the whole thing. I am just trying to drag its nose down and make it spin out.
