Switchback encounter - round 3

The companions were making quick work of the undead creatures. Still, some were in danger as the fell-creatures continued to slash with their horrid claws, seemingly oblivious to the wounds that had been rendered.




Situation: The Company is attacked by a pack of mewlips (ghouls)

Situational Modifiers: Mewlips have Terror effect each round - all party members have overcome their fears.

Creatures are standard hit points and levels.


Physical Modifiers: M1 is Near Death (9) -9, M2 is Injured (7) -3, M4 is Wounded (4) -5

[OOC:] Post edited, see round 2 for the parry attempt and get back with me on your decision regarding COURAGE to be spent. Current round may be affected based on potential wound penalty.

[OOC:] Hey Matt, it took the mewlips essentially 1 combat actions to get to you all - I only awarded them 1 attack action in Round 1. They got to you easier because they leapt from the heights down to where you are.

I am going to have to say it will take 2 rounds to get to M5... missile weapons can be employed without closing.

Figuring that his companions have things here well in hand, Nori bellows a battle cry and charges off to meet the lone fell creature in the distance.

Once Caranmîr sees Nori, the Dwarf, running towards the lone mewlip standing on higher grounds, he immediately grabbed his Quarterstaff that lay at his feet and then started to follow the attacking dwarf.

Vári sought to crush the "life" out of the Mewlip that confronted him, as he saw Gumbo attack one of his own as Nori sprinted up the hill to engage yet another.

ACTION 2: Attack Mewlip #2 or engage #1 if #2 is down for the count. If both are out of the fight, Vári will join Nori and head towards #5.

ACTION 3: Will hold to see if Swift Strike edge will apply to combat or if Vári will be heading up the hill with Nori.
