Telek stood up and quickly gained his bearings. He looked around at the dimly lit engineering room and saw his fellow crewmen scattered about - some were moving but most were still. The Andorian's physique was what had saved him. When the ship had been struck by the explosion, he had been hurled against a wall and memory faded from there. But now, he was once more aware and so he saw about the tasks at hand.

[OOC:] First of all, welcome to Episode 6. I hope you guys liked the end of the last episode and I hope this new portion of our story is as exciting.

Next, as you all know, I have not been too giving with XP and advancements since our game commencement so long ago and that is because I started all of these characters with at least 4 advancements - that being said, it is time you all earned some. Each player character is awarded two advancements, or 2,000 XP. As always, please post in an [OOC:] how you will be spending the 10 picks. Congratulations.

Engineering crew all need to make a Stamina test TN 10 to awake (obviously no PC is dead... though we may have lost some main character NPC's - I am going to see how I want to play that yet).

Thomas, Telek is currently the only one aware in engineering. I will want you to do some narrative as to what he wants to do; whether it is to help other crewmen or to check the ship's status. If he helps crewmen, each PC gets a +3 to their stamina to regain consciosness.

Shawn, Ramos needs to roll a Stamina test TN 12 to regain consciousness.

Obviously the unstarted repairs in the last thread will still need done once you guys can get your department back to normal.

Let's have some fun!  ;D

Ramos came to and pushed himself up off the floor. He gathered his bearings and immediately his technical mind put the situation together. He ran to the nearest console to see the status boards but was puzzled to see that it only blinked with multiple lights, and did not respond to his touch commands.

Leaving that behind a moment, he went to manually check his engines and allow his year of experience to tell him their condition, instead of the computer. He went first to the warp core and saw it was still humming bright blue - the guages showed no apparent overheating or losses of power. Ten minutes later, the impulse engines told him the same. The chief engineer was greatly relieved when Telek came up to hand him a report - the Andorian had made a list on his PADD of visible signs of trouble:

Non-Operational

  • Inter-ship communication
  • Doors all environmentally sealed
  • LCARS
  • Environmental systems - lights, ventilation

Operational

  • Ship has power
  • Gravity
  • Environmental systems - emergency lighting, temperature control, and air

There was much more that could have been listed, but Telek merely listed the moments necessities. Around the two engineers, their fellow crewmen began to see to duties and to take care of the wounded or fallen.

Telek handed Ramos the data PADD with the ships current status on it and turned to look around the room.

He noticed two crewmen crumpled up against one of the bulkheads and immediately ran over to check their status. As he knelt down next to them he called out to Ramos. "Should we fix Comms or Environmental first Chief?"

He reached down to feel each for a pulse and felt the first strong and steady the second was weak but steady. He released a sigh of relief to find them both alive and began to administer basic first aid.

"Chief, Ensign Ableman is coming around... but Petty Officer Grant needs medical attention..." Telek said sitting back on his heels and looking over at Ramos.

The condition of his fellow crewmen in engineering brought home the danger to the rest of the ship's crew with immense clarity and Telek new they must fix comms first. The Captain had to know the situation ship wide to best assess damage and assign damage control parties. He also felt in his bones that there were crewmen hurt, alone and in need of medical attention.

Telek stood to his feet and with a glance down at the still unconscious Grant said. "Chief permission to get on those comm repairs?"

Ramos nodded - communications were their first priority.
"Keep in touch. I'll see if I can get the computers up and running. Once we've used them to determine where we've been compromised, we can start opening the doors around the ship safely and get the ventilation systems moving. Let's go."

Ramos stared at the interface wondering what was happening. The core panel was lit and the LCARS was displayed, but again, unresponsive. In fact, the screen still had listed all computer diagnostics - files open, memory usage, system resource availability. The last of these showed 92%... almost all of the cores resources were ready for use, but the thing would not respond.

Behind the chief engineer, Telek and his team had the communication's net opened up and apart replacing burnt panels and boards. The project was a challenge because the replicators which they used to generate new simms and the sort, were not working.

Throughout the ship, Ramos had dispersed others from his staff to use tricorders to determine environmental status of sealed compartments; these teams were also working on fire detail. As the conditions were determined, the environmental doors were manually opened to allow for crewmen to escape or for dangerous hazards to be handled. The tems were making good time and within the hour had most of Deck four opened and were starting to move up towards the bridge to Decks two and three.

[OOC:] I need Ramos to make a Physical Science test TN 15

I also need Telek to make an Engineering: Systems test TN 15 for the comm station - the test will take an hour and will be at a -3 due to no computer access / no replicators. If successful, the comm system will have been repaired enough to allow functionality when the computer begins to work.
