Quote from: Posterboy on Jan 25, 2018, 02:03 PMHey Paul, is Arbogast coming along with us on this next leg, or are you bringing in a new character too?
For reasons that will become clear, Arbogast will not be attending.  I mean, he's not going to drop off the face of Middle-Earth - he'll be around if you go looking for him for some reason - but he won't be a part of the group.

Hey All,

So a few things before I hastily head into my program.

1) Paul, is it okay if a rejig Tate slightly? I wrote him pretty quickly, not expecting to pick him up (I was expecting Kol actually).

2) Tom, if yes, would it be okay if Tate picked up the look out man role and Hathcyn took the scout role?

3) If the answer is no for either of those questions, no worries. (seriously... I have no shortage of characters to take on.) If no is the answer, I'd like to pick up Idunn then. She should be able to take on the role of scout if needed and has some skills lacking in the group. And she is familiar with Esgalwen and Grimbeorn.

4) If the answer is yes to #1 and #2, Doug, can we collaborate on Tate connecting at the Missing Scale prior to Esgalwen meeting King Bard and Tate escorting her to the King's hall?

K.... got to run!

Sure Doesnt matter to me, they are both kind of the same skill set. Scout works fine too.

As for your #4 I think they are seperated by time and distance in terms of the narrative Doug has already presented, but that's up to him.

The Fellowship phase is for character exposition to fill the time and evolve the character out of screen time and not really for playing out. I think the focus on our story is going to be Wilderland so I would look at using the fellowship phase to tie your character into that area as opposed to Dale. Up to what you guys want to do though Its your narrative time.
THE GAME MUST GO ON!

My thoughts on #4 is this -

Paul is giving us two Fellowship phases. There is no reason that I can see why Tate and Esgalwen spend some time in Dale. The two phases are going until the Fall of 2953.

Paul, let us know what you want us to do.
Esgalwen [♦♦♦♦♦○]     :<3: 10/12       :+~: 8       :<>: 16/18
Nimronyn [Sindarin Pale gleam] superior keen, superior grievous longsword - orc bane

Shadow bane [when in Forward stance, add 1 success die to each attack]
Skirmisher [if carried encumbrance is 12 or less, increase Parry by +3 when in close combat stance]

Paul ... the Profiler.

It is very functional for the loremaster to be able to open and edit PC sheets. I recommend you update yor login profile by turning on GM functions.

Once done, you can create a campaign in the profiler. Mine is simply called TOR - you'll need a unique name for yours, but you can then invite the PCs to your campaign.

This allows you to open and edit character sheets. I will give you all the character sheet numbers in a new post for you to invite.

Let me know when you are ready, because I need to take them out of my campaign first.

I'm still here but the latest plagues have swept through and work is sucking it  >:p

Hey I was wondering if there was any additional items/ways to spend AP or XP outside of the core book?

Hey Matt, I guess I never got into treasure rewards.

Sorry.

Give me some time to think on it.

I hear what you're saying, Tom. I was trying have Tate connect more with the existing characters then with the area. You are correct in saying that Tate's adventures (and care) have focused mostly with the concerns of Dale and Laketown. That's part of why I'm hoping that Esgalwen and Tate continue their connection in Laketown and Dale, and build a friendship as Tate helps her navigate Dalish culture. Perhaps he serves as her page/herald, introducing her to the high court...

And when her time in Laketown and Dale is complete, and she looks to meet up with her boon companions, maybe she invites Tate to join her. Maybe she enjoys his companionship and the road is always a bit brighter with a friend. Perhaps she persuades him, and with Kol not really adventuring out much, he feels ready to move on too.  And then, over the course of the year rebuilding the road, Tate gets to know the other companions on the adventure (at least Grimbeorn).

Anyway, that's where I was looking to go with the collaboration.

I'm absolutely fine with you rejigging Tate, Aryn.  Let me know when you've finished so I can look him over - not that you need my approval, but I like to know what sort of challenges I can they're at everybody.

And I have no problems with you guys expanding on Dale or Lake Town, either.  If you're working hard on the road, we may add all know where it goes!

Matt, I hope you get better soon.  There are some additional options for XP use in the Adventurers Companion - I'll post a summary when I have access to my books.

Doug, thanks for the numbers.  I'll get a campaign set up as soon as I can.

Paul, here's the roll for the shadow points:

Shadow Points
Rolled 1d4+1 : 1 + 1, total 2

Are these temporary or permanent?

Posterboy

Also, what years in the campaign does this present Fellowship phase cover?

Eclecticon

This will be T.A. 2953.

The Shadow points are temporary - I didn't want to stick you with anything permanent before you'd even had a chance to play him properly.  Also, it was meant to be 1d4 minus 1, so you can have him start at 0 if you would like.  His Song his high enough to justify that, now that I've had a proper look over his sheet.
