Situation: The company has been set upon by a raiding band of orcs out of Mirkwood. Caranmîr is currently across the river - depending on his council, it will take him 2 more rounds for him to get back across. Any aid from the river folk will take a bit longer.

Situational Modifiers: The Orcs are 4 hit creatures and the wargs are 5. Penalties will accrue for each hit a creature takes:

Hit 1: -1
Hit 2: -3
Hit 3: -5
Hit 4: -7
Hit 5: Dead or -9
Hit 6: Dead

Physical Modifiers: It is night time and darkness is settling - all creatures will be subject to a -3 test penalty (Night-eyed may reduce this penalty). The Orcs are subject to a -4 fear penalty. Orc 2 and Orc 7 [3 HITS] have a -5 wound modifier; Warg 2 [2 HITS] has a -3 wound modifier.

It had been a long time since Gumbo had been in battle agains the Orcs. He wished now only that he was wearing his dwarven helm so that once again its visage would fortell the death of more Orcs. He was nearing the place where he had recieved his wound during the war. For some reason he allows felt that he could feel it as he drew closer to Moria. It was not a pain that troubled him, but more a righteous fire that called out for vengance. For a moment in time as the battle swirled around him and he saw the stout dwarves fighting by his side he thought back to those days of glory. The battle was in him now, and unthought his battle cry again issued from him at volume that seemed out of place for his size.
BARRUK KHUDAK!!!!!!!!!!

OOC: Gumbo presses the attack and attempt to roll up the flank.

I need parries from Gumbo, Bornoge and Turumarth. Once done, I will move to the next round. Don't forget to include any wound, situational, and multiple-action penalties. It's looking grim, but don't give up hope! A light is shining in the West! Oh wait... I think that is the light on the gas station marquis.  ;) Just kidding! I promise I am not going to kill off the party before you all make it to Moria.

Turumarth holds back on his attack to try and deflect one of the incoming blows from the two orcs. Orc 1's attacks fall short and he almost avoids those from Orc 3 until a poor position forces him to wield staff against sword.

Turumarth parries Orc 3 (Turumarth, -5 Wounded, Darkness -3, Armed Combat +1, +2 specialty, total -5)
2d6 -5 = 3,6 -5 = 4

Alas, the wood was lacking and the black steel struck home. His store of courage was not enough to repel the blow.

Turumarth takes 12 more pts of damage (DR 2, leather armour) and becomes Incapacitated (-7)
