Britton heard and felt the two grenades explode upstairs, as the walls and floor shook - but then nothing. The barrage of blaster fire had ceased and only the moans of the wounded could be heard in the darkened passage.

Sam and Caden, in the Aegis's cockpit, flew the ship from the platform and over the trees that surrounded Ranie's mansion. Although they knew there was trouble within, nothing yet had revealed itself.

Pulling Dan back into cover, Brim steadied himself. He took a quick glance around the corner to see the shadow plunge his lightsaber into the medical facility's exterior wall and proceed to cut an opening.

Kara shook her head. The stick's effect was rapidly wearing off and along with it came the feeling of coming down. She never liked that. But then through the haze of the drugs, she heard something... blaster fire? And was that an explosion?

Situation: Ranie's mansion is attacked. Caden and Sam have fired up the Aegis and are flying to the driveway area of the compound (this will take a total of 4 rounds, starting at round 2, to fire up the ship, move it and set it down - and yes, Shawn, there is plenty of room on the drive. Ranie had the platform set away from his property to reduce noise. So, starting round 6, the Aegis will be landed, or hovering, on/over the drive.)

Situational Modifiers: none.

Physical Modifiers: It is night time and -2 darkness penalty applies for all actions (n/a for Med Facility) unless the PC has special ability/equipment (troopers have low-light vision headgear); any map corner that represents a wall may be used as cover; furnishings will offer limited cover based on the weapon

Initiative:
Shade 28
Jasper 24
Britton 23
Brim 22
Qinos 17
Hacks 9
Sam and Caden - n/a, flying the ship to drive (2 more rounds to land)

Shade uses his lightsaber to cut a hole in the wall to exit the building.

Jasper runs to the main entrance of the mansion as Hacks covers his advance and slowly follows.

Britton took a deep breath (spending a swift action to complete his recovery) and then ran up the stairs after his attackers (spending his move and standard actions to move eight squares).

Kara sighed, remembering she had left her blaster in the adjoining room when she left to use the stick she had received.  She moved to the door of the refresher, and opened it slightly to see if she could make a safe bolt for the table where she had left her blaster.

:ooc:

If the room is clear, I'll grab my blaster and start making my way to the sounds of blaster fire.

Brim turned back to Dan on the stairs and helped his friend down to the bottom. He was glad the cloaked figure hadn't remained to finish them off, but now wondered why such a rapid departure was required. Cutting a hole in the side of the building seemed excessive. Unless ...

:ooc: Is there some sort of roll required for Brim to use his brain to figure out they are standing in a soon-to-be-non-house?  ;)

tomcat

:ooc: I will allow a Perception roll to be made (which is based on Wisdom) for Brim to put 2 and 2 together, and come to some kind of dire conclusion. Remember they originally saw the Shade on the balcony... etc.

Test DC will be 20 for him to put together that something drastic will soon happen for the attacker to make a quick departure through a hole in the wall... and seeing how the house is precariously supported... well, he'll realize something is REALLY wrong.

Nick... Kara sees nothing when she opens the door to her refresher. Getting to her gun will be no challenge at all.

 :ooc: OK here goes ...

Perception Roll:
Roll(1d20)+8: 17,+8 Total:25 Sweet! Brim has a brain!

Looking at Dan, Brim's eyes suddenly opened wider than usual. "You don't think they would ..." The Rodian grabbed Dan by the sleeve and pulled him towards the front of the medical facility where he remembered there was an exit to the driveway. "They're going to take out the whole damn house!", he yelled at his friend. Before exiting, Brim pulled his blaster, hoping their cloaked attacker was not waiting outside.

As Britton tops the stairs, Hacks takes his delayed Standard action to attack...
Move
- slowly moving backwards, but keeping both stairs down from level 2, and up from sub-level covered.
Swift - none.
Standard - takes a Rapid Shot (2 shots with 1 atk, -2 penalty, +1 die of damage)
Britton 22 RC +9, Rapid Shot -2
-------------------------
Roll(1d20)+7: 3,+7 Total:10 FAILED [well Hacks is proving very pathetic with the blaster!]

Britton raced up the stairs only to see a man in what appearred to be Clone trooper armor staring back at him with a gun levelled. Hacks fired his carbine only to miss, the blaster bolts exploding into the wall behind Rand.

Not waiting to see the results of his attack, Hacks moved backwards towards the doors.
