Mansion attack - round 1 and 2

Situation: Ranie's mansion is attacked by an unknown number of attackers. Britton has run towards the stairs to the first floor of the main house; Dan and Brim are running to the second floor of the med facility; Caden and Sam have fired up the Aegis and are flying to the driveway area of the compound (this will take a total of 4 rounds, starting at round 2, to fire up the ship, move it and set it down - and yes, Shawn, there is plenty of room on the drive. Ranie had the platform set away from his property to reduce noise. So, starting round 6, the Aegis will be landed, or hovering, on/over the drive.)

Situational Modifiers: First round is a surprise round on Britton (flat-footed and may not react); as of second round, the initiative scores below apply.

Physical Modifiers: It is night time and -2 darkness penalty applies for all actions (n/a for Med Facility) unless the PC has special ability/equipment (troopers have low-light vision headgear); any map corner that represents a wall may be used as cover; furnishings will offer limited cover based on the weapon

Britton is at a disadvantage to Hacks due to elevation, -3 cover penalty to direct-fire attacks.

Hacks fires on Britton as he rounds the corner and starts up the stairs

Caden starts the sequences to fire up the ship's engines so that he can lift off and get the Aegis closer to the house. On his control panel, he sees all the hull-integrity lights go green as Sam races up the entry ramp and triggers the close button. Outside, the Aegis vents in multiple places as pressures restore and the ship begins to rise.

Britton ducked hard as blaster fire ripped through the air to his right. The shot had been fired quickly and the accuracy lost. The security officer had no desire to give the attacker another chance. More blaster fire could be heard coming from somewhere behind Britton's attacker. The man realized that the guards watching Ranie must now also be under attack.

Dan and Brim raced up the stairs to the second floor of the medical facility to see a tall, shrouded figure draw the length of his red lightsaber from the body of Ranie's doctor. The Shade noticed the arrival of the two heroes and turned to confront them.

Dan opened up fire with his blaster, but the shots were wide. In a fluid motion, the dark jedi moved quickly into melee range and swiped his lightsaber twice at the soldier. Fortunately for Dan, only one attack hit, searing his arm, but not removing it.

Britton fires back on Hack, aiming as he does so:
Move - used to Aim.
Swift - used to Aim.
Standard - takes a Shot
Roll(1d20)+6: 16+6 Total:22 ( :ooc: Aiming DOES get rid of the cover for Darkness too, right?)
If hits: Roll(3d8)+2: 3,7,3,+2 Total:15


Standing tall and holding his pistol in both hands Britton aims at his assailant and fires off a shot

 :ooc: Sorry to be the hold up - been sick all day yesterday and today and haven't logged in until now ...

Brim's worst fears were around the corner ... it was the bad kind of Jedi. The Rodian cringed as the glowing red blade struck Dan. His friend was lucky to have kept his arm. This was going to get ugly fast. Hoping the attack on Dan had at least drawn the cloaked figure's attention away from him, Brim leaned around the corner at the top of the stairs and fired his blaster point blank.

Move - one step back onto stairs to use the corner as cover

:ooc: Brim's hold out blaster is a standard model. Kara's improvement was an Extra Power Source, giving it 12 shots before recharge rather than the usual 6. Total cost 300 + 200 (mod) +10% (new) = 550.

:ooc: Sorry, but I delete non-essential posts in game... makes it easier for me to follow an action round. Please don't be offended, and I am glad you are feeling better Brian!  ;)

Just as a matter of rule, if you guys have side discussions (which I know these posts weren't), please use the General Forums. Also, I changed the colors on your PC postings. I use red to signify bad guys, so if you could use any other color I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Britton takes 21 points of damage and is reduced on the condition track by 1





Blaster fire rips through the air throughout the Senator's home. Ranie, falls to his knees in fear as his guards scramble for cover from the fire that comes from down the stairs.

Brim is certain his attack failed as he heard the shapes lightsaber flare and the shot ricochet.

In the sub-level of the house, Britton sees and then hears the grenade tumble down the stairs. He dives away to get cover, but not before the device explodes sending shards ripping through all of the security personnel standing in the hall. The man lifts his head, feeling pain in multiple areas and looks at the carnage around him - his fellow guards lay about, some moving, some not.
