Three Tears - Round 3

Situation: The Easterlings are aware of their attackers and move in to combat.

Dirnhael is charging Koskas to draw all attention to him and allow Galudir to move in quietly and unseen. It will take all of Round 3 for Galudir and Dirnhael to close unless Koskas uses an action to close and then Dirnhael and Koskas will have 1 action each.

Situational Modifiers: The area within the orange circle is the only area where attacks are not penalized by a -5 Darkness penalty. If you wish to attack any character outside the orange ring, a successful Observe (Spot) TN 12 is required (1 Action and -5 Darkness penalty applies) to see the target. A failure at this Observe test penalizes by DOS: -3, -5, -7 and is cumulative with the -5 Darkness penalty. Any character at a higher elevation than his opponent receives a +3 advantageous position bonus to attack.

Easterling / Warg Stats: This is a major battle so some of the baddies are standard hit points, so be ready. Mook health levels for the minor baddies... 5 hits for Easterlings TN 10 defence, 6 for Wargs TN 11 defence

Physical Modifiers: Ranged attacks against Sagath will be affected by -3 for shields and -2 movement

Initiative:

Galudir 12
Éothraim 10
Easterlings 10
Nain 10
Durgil 9
Dirnhael 9
Koskas 7
Fengel 6
Wargs 6
Edrahil 5

**Please remember to give me your next round's initiative at the end of your posts

Fengel charges down slope to engage the Sagath.

OOC: I will be out of town all this weekend starting tomorrow.  Here is my plan Tomcat if you need to run Fengel in my absence.  Fengel will engage S10 and S11 hoping to make quick work of them.  If however one of the archers eliminates any one of those then the next Sagath in line will suffer.   ;D  Thanks!

OOC: Cool Paul... I will probably post all of the attacks tomorrow unless I get another wave of energy tonight.

OOC: Do archers get the +3 bonus for height advantage as well?  If so, I don't think you accounted for it in the last round for Durgil.

Durgil heard the cry of his friend and itched to help, but knew that he was needed right where he was, nocking and releasing arrows as fast he can into the enemy, unfortunately for him, his supply is limited.

OOC: Oops... you are correct Matt, you should have gotten the +3 bonus. I am not going to worry about changing the results from last round just becasue of the work needed, but I will give you back the Courage I used in the rolls.

Paul - I just need the parries from Fengel and if any fail, I will roll damage and apply it - I then need his attacks. That should square us for ROund 3 and I will set up Round 4.

The battle raged as the Sagath finally overcame the surprise and were able to take the battle to the Éothraim. Fengel could sense the pressure on his formation from the greater numbers of Easterlings, and saw that even though their initial attack was devastating, the battle could still swing either way.

Not far away, Dirnhael ran towards the shadowy shape he knew to be Koskas, his sword drawn and ready. The figure saw the Dúnadan and moved to meet his attack. As he came forward, Dirnhael felt his heart skip a beat as he saw that he faced no man, but an upright abomination - part man and part warg! Though terrifying, the warrior smiled to himself as he prepared to attack - behind the great hulk was the shadowy shape of Galudir.

To the west, the chariot riders saw the light in the vale appear and knew that their henchmen were in need. They quickly changed their course and drove the wains towards the hills along the Donun River.
