Nain axe cut down the warg then bit deep into the nearby Sagathan as he swung it back around.  He parried the man's first attack but against the much quicker sword his defense fell short.  Once again he silently thanked the god of Dwarves and Smiths that he'd brought his mail shirt on this trip despite his brothers assurances that it would be unnecessary and that the weight would be better filled with something they could sell.  The bruise that the Sagathan left him quickly brought him back to the fight as he prepared to parry yet again.

Situation: The Easterlings and the Company are engaged - the Sagath currently attack from the saddle against the unmounted companions.

Situational Modifiers: Sagath while in the saddle gain a +2 test modifier for advantageous position to attack only.

Hey Doug, just a question, since Fengel is getting clobbered.  On the Sagath parry, are you still including the +2 for being mounted?  I went over the last round because I didn't understand how Fengel didn't even get a hit on them.

The two Sagath warriors had engaged Fengel too quickly.  He could feel their blades cut through his armour, but that just prodded him on.  His opponents could see the wrath in Fengel's eyes as Cerduil swung through the air slashing at each one in turn.

OOC: Sorry I made a booboo.  Fengel has the Hardy edge so the dazed penalty would be 0.  Each attack would increase by 1.  I know this could be a nightmare for you Tomcat, so if you want to leave it for now I understand.

OOC: I edited my post due to the damage and MAP penalties.  I will take the hit from the arrow.

OOC: Okay.. that was a big round due to the number of combatants... and the battle is still not over!   ':}

Anyway, I wanted to get back with you all to answer your concerns on this round. We'll start from the top:

Quote from: ShawnOOC: A sweep, as I understand it, is a special combat move that requires only one action, but imparts a penalty during it's use. So I'm treating this parry as Action 4, but feel free to override that if you feel differently.

The armed combat maneuver table in the CRB (page 226) lists the Sweep attack as costing two actions, but allows for a number of individual attacks due to the sweep. Anyway, your post is still correct because your first parry would have been action #5 at -5 MAP, and so forth. So... everything is done right for this round, just remember 2 action cost for future attacks.

Otherwise great job parrying even with those horrendous MAP's.

DAMN!! Dude I screwed up there, I thought I had given them the +2 for all combat actions... but no. Should have re-read my own situation post.   ':}

Anyway, I have gone through all the parries of this post to adjust hits. I am not going to adjust for any modifiers for this round that the wounds caused them, but will for Round 3.

Finally - Matt, I was looking at Durgil's character sheet and he seemed heavily damaged - you took 7 points from the arrow before armor reduction. I changed your character sheet to reflect just the 2 points attained.

See you all in the next Round!  ;)

Esgalwen [♦♦♦♦♦○]     :<3: 10/12       :+~: 8       :<>: 16/18

Skirmisher [if carried encumbrance is 12 or less, increase Parry by +3 when in close combat stance]

OOC: LOL stupid me, i made a final update to my post; I wouldn't have used my Courage if I didn't need it.

So, in other words, the Sweep move is only advantageous when faced with more than two opponents in melee range. That makes sense. Thanks for clearing this up.
