Grimbeorn feels like his opponent might be getting desperate not to lose face and may seek to gain an advantage this time.  He keeps up his guard while also seeking his opportunity.

Grimbeorn continues to feint and probe, keeping his body behind the Elf-made shield and giving ground slowly.  Neither does Thunar relieve the pressure on him, testing his speed and reflexes at every turn.  After several inconclusive exchanges, the Viglunding withdraws a pace or two, allowing both to catch their breath.  Then Thunar abruptly switches tactics, surging forward with a wild cry and unleashing a storm of sword-blows that hammer on Grimbeorn's shield like an iron rain.

:ooc: Okay, Thunar is going for a different type of called shot this time - if successful, he'll have driven Grimbeorn back towards the edge of the duelling square, though he'll have to succeed again to drive him all the way out.  Grimbeorn can do the same, if you're sick of trying to break his shield.

#3
Caught off-guard by the sudden and savage assault, Grimbeorn instinctively withdraws as the unrelenting attacks pummel his shield-arm and draw blood from a cut on his thigh.  As the audience cheers, he realises that he has been backed nearly to the edge, a spear on his left defining one corner of the field and an axe to his right another.

Hathcyn sees the crowd swiftly draw back, anticipating Grimbeorn's imminent defeat...

:ooc: Grimbeorn loses ten points of Endurance (called shots are still great or extraordinary successes) and will need to do something pretty dramatic next round or he'll be vulnerable to being knocked out of bounds.
