I've just now noticed that I've been spelling Radagast's name wrong for years.  Oh well.  I'm not sufficiently motivated to go back and edit every single post where it appears.

UPDATE: I haven't forgotten about the game, or anything.  I will do my level best to have a post up today, but I meant to do it yesterday and we can all see how that worked out.

More story is on its way, but I'm suddenly snowed under at work and finding time is tricksy.

Tom, how's LOTRO?

I have an account. I played maybe two hours total.

I have never been a fan of this kind of gaming. I tried all of them, too - started WAY back in the day with Asheron's Call, then more recently tried Star Wars: Old Republic, Star Trek, LOTRO, and the D&D one. I get bored with the "Bring me 5 tulip petals and I will give you this boon!" and then you have to run all over the map trying to find tulip petals.

But like Tom said, it is pretty cool walking around Middle-earth.

I have been moning ore and making weapons. Dwarf life!

Joint quests or playing with other live people I thinknis where it shines.

Oh hey - Peoples of Wilderland has dropped for Kickstarter backers.  It'll be interesting to see what Free League has done with the ol' backyard.

I looked at it briefly but not in depth to compare

So I liked using the 2e travel rules. I think it makes the journey part more memorable and utilizes more of our skills.

Or maybe I was just paying attention more to see how it was going to go than I usually do.

No, I agree.  The fact that events are now a given during travel is an improvement, I think.  And the guaranteed accumulation of Fatigue over the course of the sequence underscores the importance of travelling light!

Matt, I'm interested in your thoughts on the 2nd edition journey system, as the only person here (I think) who's had no previous experience with it.  Granted, a lot of it happened behind the scenes, but was there enough for you to form an opinion?

Paul,
If you want to lift the curtain some I can start doing the journey logs and adding them to the dropbox if we continue with these.

I'm partial to it and I think its the biggest improvement over 1e and easily imported.
