The heroes feel the cold of fear hang within the courtyard, but their hearts remain strong in the light of the lamp.

Esgalwen pulls her sword free from the dead man's hand, and brings it around in a sweeping arc.

Even as her weapon flashes around, the Dúnadan sees more shapes shambling into the area from the wooded darkness...more undead! The witch was calling them and beseeching their aid.

Nimronyn cleanly cuts through the dead man's neck. The ranger expected to see the head lopped from the body, but instead the fell-wraith disappeared and its cloak fell empty to the ground.

"You foul creature!  Calling upon death to aid you will only bring it upon yourself!" bellowed Grimbeorn.  Once again, he hefts his ancestral axe to do its duty.

As one wraith's ancient sword batters his shield, Arbogast's attention narrows, leaving an opening that the second slips easily through.  Moments later, he hears Grimbeorn's pained bellow and curses inwardly.  He barely marks the shuffling approach of more dead Men.  All that is left to him in this moment is to hope to live until an opening for a decisive strike presents itself.

:ooc: Arbogast is continuing to attack from Defensive stance.  Hopefully more interesting or efficacious tactical options will soon present themselves...

"Black Beast of dark arts, you shall be cast beyond the walls of the world! These beasts you have animated will be free to return to the earth from which they were made. Your dark arts will not avail you!"

The Elf sprung forward, weariness forgotten, into the fray. His sword reflected the light of the lamp he held in his hand and the ancient blade swung in great arcs at the shadowed foes. The lamp and sword seemed to glow as one as the Noldo elf attacked and his oily mail twinkled like the stars on clear summer night.

"Upon my sword or by your will, but BACK TO THE VOID WITH YOU!"

Morirúsë will attack From an Open Stance. He will be using his Wrath of Fingolfin ability to Intimidate Foe from a Forward or Open stance and still make an attack, he will also be using his sword one handed.

#11
Sparks shower as Grimbeorn's axe struck the stone near the old crone's head. It was a miss, but the potential harm from the blow was real.

"NO, NO, NO!" was the cry...and then, "All right! Peace! Stop! Begone spirits! Leave them be!"

And by the command, the fell-wraiths began to draw back away from the companions and the light of Morirúsë. They faded into the shadows of night, and only faint outlines could be seen as they exited the courtyard.

Fyndylsnitch lay panting on the ground amidst the fern, his staff a couple feet from his clawed hand.

Still loosely gripping his axe and shield, Arbogast crosses to Grimbeorn's side and plants a foot on Fyndylsnitch's discarded staff.
