Blow the station - round 1

Situation: Half of the team have made access to the sub-level of the Relay Station - the other half are still needing to regroup and get to the second tier of the mount. They face a new threat of Commando droids, Har'zic the Dashade, and the remaining B1/B2 battle droid squad.

ALL Modifiers (situational, physical, weariness, wound conditions):


  • All PC/NPC's will suffer a -5 penalty for firing into any melee, unless they are the ones in the melee or have the Precise Shot feat.
  • Darkness - PC's suffer a -5 to Perception checks and a -2 to combat unless equipped with low-light gear
  • Longshot and Haywire both suffer fatigue - persistent condition CT -1.

"MOVING!" shouted Longshot into his helmet comm. The sniper quickly rose to his feet, bringing his blaster rifle up with him and looked to the ground below. The hill on which he stood had a near sheer facing towards the Relay Station, while its backside was graded and would make for an easier descent - otherwise the clone would need to grapnel down. As he stood making his decision, the sound of metallic arms and legs scrambling up the hill was heard and he saw to the south eight droids mount his hill. The majority of them were the skinny fodder clankers, while two of their rank were the more formidable B-2's.

On the ground below, Mitts and Hammer moved around the hill labeled "I" on their maps only to see the remaining droid patrol ascending their brothers position. Both ARC troopers went into action.

Martel made easy work of the durasteel door that had blocked their access to the sublevel of the Relay Station, his lightsabers cutting the door down. Now only a dimly lit corridor was before them, red light the only source of illumination. The troopers activated their low-light helmet system and the passage took on a better view, but the Jedi would be limited to what he could see.

Seeing the droids closing on his brothers position, Hammer knew that he needed to act quickly.  He stopped running and braced his weapon before opening up on them with a full auto burst. 

:ooc: Hammer is going to try to get both of the B2's into his autofire area, if that's not possible then he'll try to get one of them and as many B1's as possible. All targets in his auto fire area will be affected by Improved Suppression fire and will suffer a -2 on attacks until the start of my next turn.

Martel deactivated his lightsabers before entering the corridor so as not to make him more of a target than usual.  He moved as silently as he could even with the grand entrance they made, down to the intersection and peering around the corners.  With the reduced visibility, he remained mindful of the present and his surroundings.

Longshot cursed under his breath. They're stealth approach had quickly turned into an all out assault. If they had decided on an assault to begin with they could have better weapons and strategy to bear. He had to regroup with his mates. He had to make this droid patrol disappear. He hesitated only half a second considering climbing down the face of his hill. In the interim of that thought his reflexes got the jump on his brain snagging an ion grenade from his bandolier and chucking at the droid patrol.

Hammer hits two droids - his intended B2 and a B1 on the western side of the hill. He destroys both with his fire.

Longshot's grenade hits where I have drawn the circle. Ion damage causes a droid, or an electronic device to take half of the damage to its hit points. The full unmodified damage is compared to the target's damage threshold to see if it falls 2 steps down the condition track (1 for overcoming the target's threshold, and 1 more for being an ion attack). An ion attack, like a stunning attack, is incapable of killing or destroying its target.

So...the B1's caught within the ion explosion are all reduced by 9 damage which reduces them to 0 HP and renders them disabled. The B2 is also reduced by 9 HP but suffers only a -2 to CT.





Longshot saw the droids on the western side of the hill immersed in blaster fire from Hammer and both a B2 and B1 were torn to pieces. At the same time, the sniper threw his ion grenade right into the center of the droid patrol. The grenade made a subtle pop-fizz as it released a pulse of ion energy and the surrounding B1's staggered and then collapsed to the ground, their internal electronics now fried. Only one B2 and B1 battledroid now threatened Longshot and his concern fell away.

Martel approached the corner of the entry passage and peered out into the chamber beyond. It was lit only with red lights and so shadows danced about, due to the large energy fluctuator that was centered in the room. White-yellow light flashed within the long transparent duct that ran the length of the network - energy that was harnessed from the giant generators outside and then brought into the station via massive circuits. Once inside, the power was stepped down within the fluctuator and then directed to the Relay communication center above via another long circuit-capacitor. Once above, it was routed to all necessary instruments within the facility so that the station could scan and broadcast long distance - light years - in this sector of space.

The thrum that filled the room was also overwhelming and the Jedi needed to focus to keep his mind centered so that he might sense his surroundings. Martel was well trained and he could feel the chamber and most things within - one was living, yet cold; the others were non-biological but they were present. Within the Force he felt six of the droids, but what they were he had no idea. The living being gave off the foul sensation of the darkside - not that it was a Force-user, but it was a thing that had been immersed in areas of dark Force energy and thus gave off a shadow.

Martel had been quiet, but the enemy knew they were there and there was only one access point from this direction. A commando droid saw the Jedi's head poke in to look about and immediately signaled its companions.
