Time is short...

 OOC: Time elapsed from posts:

As of the dinner being interrupted by the shaking of the ship and all of the last thread, Tam had 2 hours and 15 minutes left to complete the synthesis and then another 30 minutes to create enough antidote for the senior officers. All of this scene will follow the bullets of elapsed time:

-Yeoman is burnt, +15 minutes to Tam's work due to aiding her - 3 hours until antidote completion (AC)
-45 minutes passes from the moment dinner ended with the electrical surge to this point - 2 hours 15 minutes to AC
-Any RP'ing and tests that occur within this thread will either have been in that 45 minutes or will take up the remaining 15 minutes to staff meeting's start - 2 hours to AC
-Tam being drawn into the meeting will add an additional 30 minutes to AC as his staff will complete the synthesis but will wait for him to approve the mass quantity production - time will be re-evaluated based on the activity up and to the captain's staff meeting

Forty-five minutes had passed and still there was no word from the Golayshian; either the Hydraens or Lt. Williams, and Ramos was beginning to get truly worried. The powerless ship had begun to list as it had lost its ability to control its pitch and yaw.

In the Columbia's hangar, another shuttle was being prepared to take flight over to the Hydraen vessel to see if there were any signs of activity within. Grahm and one of his staff were watching as the deck crew readied the Leprechaun-class craft. The Tactical Officer's thoughts were deep in the task before him but occasionally it would drift to Lijeea. The Hydraen female had made quite an impression upon him, but then Grahm would think of Townshend and he would feel a mix of confusing emotions. He shook his head and looked back at the PADD in his hand.

On the bridge, "Captain Darkan, there is still no reply from Lt. Williams."

Townshend's voice was truly filled with concern. In fact, the Communication's Officer had returned to her normal disposition during the intensive time spent back at her job. Even Pushkin had returned to an appropriate behavior and was allowed to resume his position.

But this all quickly changed for the Comm Officer and she suddenly drew in her breath and held it as she heard a voice from someone that had just come from the bridge turbolift.

"Steve, is everything okay?" Isaboul spoke out, "We have been spending these long minutes in the accommodations that you have given. What is the status of my ship and what is being done?"

Tam had spent the last 15 minutes dressing the young yeoman's burn with Kelotane ointment which quickly eased her pain and safeguarded the raw flesh from any infection. He made sure she was comfortable and then looked to the nurse, "Let me know if she shows any signs of discomfort.

Tam walked back through the sickbay to the lab. A Medi-tech was working over the Mag-viewer and Molecular-conversion-synthesizer. He pressed a button making a minor change to the synthesis and looked at Tam, "Should be about another two hours and we will have the working formula... thirty minutes later we can inoculate the officer staff."

Tam nodded and checked the consoles himself, not because he didn't trust his associate, but because he had nothing else at the moment to do.

Stonn had taken up his station as well. The effect of Saleesia had begun to cause him concern and so he decided it best to just stay away from the Hydraen female and immerse himself in his work.

The sensor hood glowed on his face and the Vulcan stared intently into it. There it was again. Now it was gone. The nebula was proving itself to be very dangerous. If there was an enemy ship out there the Columbia would have little time to react.

 OOC: Need Stonn to make a Sys Ops (Sensors) TN 25 to clear the 'Ghost' in the system.

Besides Tam, Ramos was now the only other rational officer on board the starship. Though activity was clearing the heads of the other senior staff, the Hydraen pheromone was still working within their systems. But the Engineering officer had not been subject to the ladies presence and thus not overcome by their 'beauty'.

The Federation had had little contact with the Hydraen people and it was unknown to most the effect the females of the species had on males of many other humanoid life forms in the galaxy. The chemical emitted by the Hydraen princess and her entourage could bring a man under their total control if they spent enough time with him. This was occurring upon the Columbia as it had in many of the past negotiations and trades that the princess had done as an embassy from her people.

Ramos looked up from his work in engineering from the swoosh of the entrance doors. One of the Hydraen females walked into the large room looking around like a child in a museum. She smiled as some of his crewmen approached her and they spoke. Then one of the engineering crewmen looked over to Juan and waved for him to come over.

"Sir, the Lady Morrin wishes to speak with you."

Ramos looked at the chronometer on the wall as he walked over to the 'visitor'; there were only 15 more minutes until he had to be on Deck-2 for the captain's meeting.

Darkan's mind raced.  How did she get up here?  The turbolift access is limited or it will be from now on.

"The status is not good as you have been informed," he says a bit stiffly.  "We are currently engaging in further investigation as we speak."  Taking her aside, "Isaboul, you shouldn't be here.  The bridge is no place for you, its a restricted area.  I said I would meet with you later to give you a better understanding of what's going on."

Making a conscious effort to avoid her eyes, Darkan turned away to find Pushkin.  "Commander, please escort the princess back to her quarters and ensure that there is no further unauthorized access to the bridge."

With his feelings for Mia becoming muddled, the "incident" earlier, and now her presumptious interruption of his bridge, Darkan's thoughts and feelings harden towards Isaboul.

 OOC: Hey Shawn, both Stonn and Ramos have their full compliment of available Courage points.

Let me know if they are spending them.

While Darkan dealt with the distraction of the princess, Stonn continued his work on evaluating the anomaly that had been ghosting them. He ran back all of the data from all sensor scans and then had the ship's computer comb through the information.

The Vulcan again narrowed the beam on the ship's scanners being very diligent in making sure the mishap that had occurred the day before did not set them back once again.

With the systems protected but the focus being concentrated on the locations around the Columbia where the mass had been detected, Stonn at last found the truth as the computer matched the data in its banks with those of the new readings - there was nothing there. The nebula was creating sensor ghosts.

Stonn turned to his captain to reveal the resolution of his efforts. He thought that Darkan would like something brighter to think about after having to deal with the Hydraen princess.

Ramos smiled at her but he had to go. Morrin had asked him to escort her about the engineering room and show her all of the wonders of the U.S.S. Columbia, but time was running short until he needed to show up for the captain's brief.

She was attractive and Ramos was intrigued by her apparent flirting but he didn't have time for that right now. He had crewmen upon a lifeless ship and the captain was looking for some answer to this current dilemma.

OOC: Ramos will use his to pass his test, but I thought Stonn's roll was so bad that they wouldn't help. If I'm mistaken, and he can pass by using Courage Points - I'll use them!

 OOC: Cool, I already made that assumption and reduced them on the status page. The results of their success are in the post just before your last one.
