Time seemed to pass slowly and the wait for the Galileo was nerve racking, but at last the small shuttle was grabbed by the hangar bay tractor beams and brought into the Columbia. On the bridge, a voice called over the intercom, "Bridge, Galileo 027 is secured."

Sorek quickly exited to the deck and began stripping from his EVA suit. "Doctor, please coordinate the transfer of any wounded or dead to sickbay. I will return to the bridge to report to the Captain. Mr. Telek, please coordinate the stowage and inventory of equipment. Begin data downloads into an isolated bank and do not transfer to the main core until you contact me. Everyone not tasked by the Doctor or Mr. Telek, return to your stations."
Sorek couldn't shake the feeling that something was odd with Telek. The task should keep him busy for awhile until he could find a better method to assess. He also did not want any of the instruments from the Miranda connected directly to the Columbia's systems. It would slow down the analysis, but was a safeguard he would not compromise on.
Doc quickly took charge of his medical personnel, issuing orders to ensure critical cases were handled with the highest priority. Once the patients were settled in sick bay and were being attended to, he instructed the current shift to prep for additional emergencies from the upcoming encounter with the inbound vessel.
In his office, Sherman quickly scanned the reports of crew falling victim to the influence of the strange entity in the ship's systems. "I'd better check the bridge crew myself," he said to no one in particular as he gathered his portable diagnostic gear and headed for the lift.
