As the hall begins to fill with the reek of goblin blood, the two remaining on the ground break and flee, seeking the protection of the high rafters.  The bent-nosed goblin that first climbed the timbers, meanwhile, bounds from rafter to rafter like a cruelly-misshapen squirrel, its reedy voice shrieking "Master!  Master!  Save us!"  Reaching the final rafter, it leaps to cling on to the blood-coated body of Maracar where it hangs, begging the unresponsive body for salvation as the hideous pair swing back and forth, the rope creaking alarmingly.

:ooc: The split-tongued and hissing goblins both try to flee:

Fast as startled rats, both creatures scurry to the rafters.  Ignoring their companion and whatever may remain of Maracar, they start to rush to and fro, seeking an opening in the thatched roof that might permit an escape.

The womenfolk of the hall press into the alcoves at the edges, huddling away from Man and orc alike.

:ooc: As before, the goblins can be targeted by Esgalwen or Hathcyn (at -3).  Matt, if you have any cool ideas, feel free to let rip!

Esgalwen has no pity in her heart for these things and she snarls a reply to their plea, "Your master will not save you here."

Nimronyn is quickly set against one of the support posts of the hall's roof, and with hands well-trained in the skill, her bow comes up with an arrow nocked.

:ooc: She will drop the split-tongued goblin

Urk!

The goblin made a gurgling sound as the arrow struck it in the throat. There was a great thump as the body fell to the floor.

I can't find rules on this, but can I throw my axe?  was thinking of using an all-out attack to hit.

:ooc: Hmm... throwing a long-hafted axe is going to be pretty ungainly, especially using only one hand to do it.  I tell you what - I'll go for it as an all-out attack but jack the TN up to 25.  With six success dice, the feat die and a bonus die if needed, I'm still kind of anticipating that you'll succeed.

EDIT: If you're interested in throwing axes (which would be covered by Grimbeorn's Axes skill rating) you can find acceptable game stats for them in the attached document.

Hathcyn drew the throwing axe from his belt and tossed it to Grimbeorn while he stabbed and probed with his long spear.

I'll use my bonus dice too if they are needed.

:ooc: I'm going to go ahead and roll for Grimbeorn.  I don't mean to step on your toes, Matt, but I want to keep things moving.

Hathcyn stabs once and again at the goblin that capers, hissing in fear and pain, on the rafters.  Finally, it turns and flees for the very same hole in the thatching that the Longspear himself made bare minutes earlier.  Hathcyn is swift to respond, however, and thrusts his spear out to the limit of his arms' reach, piercing the creature through the belly.  It topples from its perch to smash messily into the table.

Nearby, Grimbeorn catches the tossed axe, turns and throws the hatchet, the motion seeming almost casual despite the skill and might behind it.  The iron blade buries itself in the head of the bent-nosed goblin with a sound like a damp log splitting, and the last goblin to live in Maracar's hall falls from the body it clutched.

Esgalwen, wiping and sheathing her sword, turns to the cowering women.  "Fear not," she says, "for we mean you no harm.  Your children are nearby, and safe."

"I'll cut the man down and bring this filth out and burn them. Esgalwen, you may bring the children out of the cold in a moment."
