Hathcyn took no time to celebrate his victory. In the twisted faces of these creatures he still saw the dead visage of Uppala trying to kill him in the hall. The terror of years past never left him though part of him knew it wasnt real.

He turned from the pile of muck and attempted to aid his friend who was sorely pressed.

The thrust of the spear went wide, but he hoped at least the creature would feel its foes encircling him.

The cruel hands at her neck with sharp nails digging into her flesh, Esgalwen could smell the foul reek that came from the undead creature and she felt her earlier dinner rebelling against her body. Hathcyn's spear slid across the monster making no purchase in its flesh and Esgalwen quietly cursed the wight for resilience.

She dropped Nimronyn under the arms that clutched her and put the point of the weapon just under the wight's sternum, thrusting forward with both hands.

:ooc: Wow! Resilient fuck! Well, it still takes 17 :<3: loss.

There was a crack of bone, or maybe it was the wood that made up the monster's form, but Nimronyn did naught else but cut deeply as it slid across chest - unable to pierce into where its heart might be.

Moving alongside the Longspear, Arbogast brings the Warden's Axe down on the remaining wight.

Across the canal, Laeral's voice rings out: "More assailants!"  There is a clatter as she drops her bow and takes up her spear to defend herself at close quarters.

Laeral doesn't get an attack this round as she is switching weapons.

From the close darkness of the Elven Quarter, two Men dash into the moonlight.  The first, his sword blackened with pitch, closes with Laeral, his slashes and swipes driving her away from the bridge as his companion draws an axe and begins to hack at the ropes supporting the bridge to the Tollhouse.

:ooc: The swordsman is engaging Laeral.  The axeman will cut away the bridge by the end of the next round unless someone can cross in time (with a successful Athletics roll - each person attempting after the first will add 2 to the TN, as the rope bridge shakes and sways beneath them).

Though his attack is frenzied, Laeral is fleet of foot and escapes with no more than a torn sleeve.  Beside her, the unmistakeable sound of iron cutting wood continues.
