Title: A Goblin Hole - Ambush Round
Post by: tomcat on Apr 22, 2020, 06:06 AM
Situation: The companions successfully ambush the orcs.

Combat Advantage dice:
• To be assigned after ambush actions

Situation Modifiers:
• The companions have sprung their trap, and now have the initiative.

Physical Modifiers (complications):
• Thus far, the tunnels and cavern chambers are well lit. Chamber 2 is well-cluttered and may either provide cover or obstacles. Orc abilities, such as Denizens of the Dark, will still function even though there might be torchlight.

:ooc: Aly, to bring you up to speed on how I run the game:

• Every combat thread will have a header post, like the one above.
• The header will list the PC's current situation of health, hope, and stance, along with their foes and who is facing whom.
• I separate out each round so confusion can be minimized as to who has acted and the effects of said action.
• Your resources (Endurance and Hope) are illustrated as 28/28. As you use resources in your actions, I will modify the header post for each new combat round, by reducing the number to the left of the slash. If you are wounded, or made miserable, I will add those conditions next to the appropriate resource.
• At the bottom of the header post, for everyone's ease, I have a stance chart. Before you perform any actions in a round, you will state your PC's stance and that will determine your attack and defense TN's.
• For expediency sake, when I roll the bad guy attacks, I will also include any Armor defense rolls to determine any injuries.
• IF YOU CLICK POST after adding a dice roll, you cannot reopen your post to modify it without marking the roll as  being tampered. This is not a big deal, as I trust all our players to be fair with their dice rolls, so I am just making you aware. I will give an example below.
• After each series of game actions in combat, I will summarize the round for everyone.
• If you want a better understanding of how we do, I suggest you read through previous combat rounds. They are easily marked.

(https://rpg.avioc.org/boards/Themes/default/images/dice_warn.gif) This dice roll has been tampered with!

Arbogast rushes forth, hoping to end the struggle as quickly as it began.  The goblin's eyes widen in fear as he lifts his axe...

:ooc: He'll start off in Forward stance and make an attack:

:ooc: That's a nice little hit, but it doesn't quite finish off the goblin.  Aly, would you care to do the honours?

Also, depending on how close Doug decides he is to the uruk, his magic axe may let him Cleave the second opponent for 5 damage.
