On the field Grimbeorn fights for his people, his friend, and the honor of his people.  He salutes the lord and his opponent and says, "Let it be known that it not have to come to this.  I tried to be reasonable.  Settling into his stance, the heir of Beorn gauges his opponent's style and tactics.  He wants to give the break out a chance to succeed while keeping himself in the fight.

:ooc:
Grimbeorn takes a Defensive stance to start, action is Defensive Fighting giving up one die for +2 Parry.

Warily, the two men draw their weapons, each keeping their distance from the other as they look for indications of strengths and weaknesses.  Grimbeorn is the larger of the two, standing half a head taller than Thunar, but the Viglunding holds his sword in an easy grip that, along with his scarred hands, speaks of a long famliarity with battle and bloodshed.  Grimbeorn, for his part, notes a slight favouring of his opponent's left leg, but there is not enough time to find a use for this information before Thunar slides to one side and then the other, quick as flowing water.  When he strikes, it is like a wolf, quick and savage, moving inside Bear Claw's reach to hammer at the axe-handle.

:ooc: Thunar's attack will be a called shot, aiming to disarm Grimbeorn.  I'm disregarding the usual rules for antagonist called shots, given the context.

Rolled 4d6 : 2, 1, 1, 2, total 6

All eyes are on the two warriors as they trade ineffectual blows before stepping back, reassessing each other.  Across the square, Rorin meets Hathcyn's eyes, his face set in grim resolve.

:ooc: Tom, let me know what Hathcyn's up to while everyone's distracted.
