The Bando Gora was a cult that had plagued the Outer Rim since before the onset of the Clone Wars. It had lived in the shadows using subterfuge and assassination to intimidate and control, all the while growing the ranks of its bestial followers. Drugs were the primary source of control, and devolution of any species that might come under the cult's interests. The ultimate goal - subjugation.

But like any other organization, it needed leadership and there was a void in this area for the Gora. Since the death of Komari Vosa, many of the higher ranked members had taken on the mantle and ruled over their own immediate area. The two captains that were aboard the Action VI, to guard their product that they moved into Hutt space, were not willing to die for the shipment. Where before, under Vosa, they would have willingly fought to the death, they now each saw themselves as an independent possibility of leadership within the cult. They both knew it was better to live and report back the attack on the shipment - to know that somewhere in their operation was snitch.

By silent consensus, the two captains made the decision to get away from here. The one that stood above the team pulled back into the shadows and then began to spider-climb into the cargo crates to find a hiding spot within the massive cargo bay. The other one knew it would not survive and escape, and so tried to take one more of the troopers with it into the void. The Bando Gora raised its Force Staff at Haywire and fired.

Hammer sees the captain disappear from his field of view, but also seems Martel glance that way.  He quickly makes the decision that the it's better to deal with the enemy that he can see before the other one comes back and fires once again into the remaining Bando Gora.

:ooc: Stefan posted while I was and it messed up all my formatting lol, lets try again :P

Haywire dove to avoid the deadly energy that the enemy captain had directed at him and felt the heat of the blast on his side as it passed harmlessly over his reinforced armor. Haywire hit the ground and returned fire on his attacker trusting his team to help bring him down.

:ooc:  Applying the attacks in order - Haywire to Hammer - we get the following.

Matt, the Gora that attacked you is above you. He was standing on crates that either floated or were magnetically secured to the ship's bulkhead. To get to him, you need to start to climb up the crates.

The Bando Gora commander had rallied himself against his enemies - drawing upon his inner strength to steel himself against any more attacks. He dropped his staff to blast Haywire, but rushed the shot and it went high. The Clone Trooper did not hesitate to reciprocate and his carbine flared in the dark hold. The bolt struck the Bando Gora in the left side, spinning it sideways and causing its staff to fly from its hands. A ghastly cry of pain came from the thing.

Hammer seeing the opportunity braced Vera again and the heavy blaster sang. The team saw large chunks of the Gora's back and torso incinerated right off of its body. The thing fell to the deck in a smoking ruin and did not stir again.

Martel looked up into the darkness. The cargo containers were scattered above them in ordered groups, either sitting on repulsor pallets or maglocked to the Action VI's bulkhead. He thought he glimpsed a darker shadow moving among the boxes, like a spider on the wall, but he was not sure.

"Secure the area and cover me.  I'm going after the last one," said Martel.  Clipping his lightsaber to his belt, he began climbing after the darksider.

 :ooc: Take 10 on Climb?

Hammer quickly ordered Haywire and Mitts into positions under cover and facing Fore and Aft as security, then had Longshot join him next to the pile of boxes in the center of the area they were covering to try to help the commander if he could.

Once the AO was secure he quickly ran down ammo counts for all 4 of them as well as their conditions.

"Mitts, How you doin'?  Can you patch yourself up or do you need Longshot to help out?"

"Workin' on it, Sarge," came the raspy reply from the corpsman. Hammer's helmet clicked and then, "I am moving that way, anyway, sir," came Longshot's voice.

The sniper moved slowly across the cargo deck, his gun aimed upward towards the shadows. "I am not sure what these things are, but they don't even show up on low-light, or infrared." Longshot watched as his helmet cycled through its various views. What they all could see was Martel moving into the suspended crates, leaping from one to the next. Those on repulsor-pallets rocked back and forth, but did not move due to the magnetic links that held all in place.

The Jedi scanned the darkness where the Bando Gora had moved to, but could see nothing. He continued to climb.

Suddenly, there was a great BOOOM-WHOOMFF! and the clangor of a metal door as it cascaded down the man-lift shaft. Smoke filled the tube and it slowly began to escape into the cargo hold. Mitts who was closest to the lift-shaft, spoke, "I think the pirates just blew open another locked down door...this one to the lift, cause I just saw it fall past the door here."

The ship had been locked down by Haywire and the mech-droid, but the pirates must have gotten resourceful. First they must have gotten to their armory, and now were blowing a way through portals and bulkheads to get down to the lower decks.

"If they've accessed this man-lift, they'll be coming down here very soon. Unfortunately for them, their gonna have to do it with rope - unless they can fly." All of the troopers cringed in their armor at Longshot's words. Hopefully these pirates didn't have jetpacks!

"Hammer, cover me! I'm going to leave a surprise for our pirate friends if they decide to come through the door."

:ooc: Haywire wants to ball up some Detonite Cord and Frag grenades and lay them around the door in places that would catch as many enemies as possible coming through.

:ooc: trip wire -or- triggered? Let me know. Also, let me know if you know the blast radius in squares and map them out on the deck plan, for me.

If you don't know blast radii, I will get you the info.

:ooc: Triggered, and I don't know the blast radius. I think I've got the rulebook on a computer at home somewhere but I'd have to dig it up  :\

Longshot got to Mitts and looked at his battered armor. "I've got to stabilize Mitts," he said. "Give me a minute if you can."

Retrieving his medpak, he turned his attention to his squadmate. "Hold still; you're no good to us dead, y'know."

He figured that Mitts could imagine his fellow clone's smile through the implacable facade of his helmet.

Hammer walked over to stand next to Haywire while he worked on the trigger for their little surprise but watched up the lift to make sure that nothing came down from there to surprise them in return.  He hoped that the Commander would hurry up and deal with that thing he was following, sitting here was already making him chafe. He opened a direct comm channel to Martel.

"Sir, I know you want to take care of that thing, but we're going to have company really soon, we need to get moving."

:ooc: Longshot's assist bestows the following:

DC 15 with a +2 equipment mod for using the medpac, gives him an 18 success. So, 11 hit points are restored.  :csu:

Updated Haywire for his use of det-cord and radio triggers  :csu:

Martel, I need a Perception DC 28. (That was a critical stealth roll by me)

Haywire rolled det-cord into tight balls about the size of his fist. He had also grabbed some nuts and bolts off of a maintenance tech's cart that had been left inside the cargo hold, and rolled the small metal shrapnel into his explosives. Once he had created enough to cover the entire area in front of the opening to the man-lift, he attached a small radio-remote trigger to each. The thumb trigger in his hand blinked red six times and then the light turned green, which told him they were live. He nodded to Hammer and backed away from the entrance.

While they had been busy, Longshot had pulled a medpac from his utility belt and began to aid Mitts. The troopers armor was badly scored from heat and had cracks in multiple places. He pulled the corpsman's helmet off and had him drink the pain-killer stimulant. It was a re-engineered bacta that worked internally and had had great success in keeping men alive and functioning in the field. Even as he consumed the liquid, Mitts felt his heart begin to race and his energy return. It would not close his wounds, but it would make it so he could move. Longshot daubed other healing agents directly on visible wounds he could see, checked Mitts for any broken bones, and then helped him to his feet. The team doctor smiled in appreciation, "I am okay, 'Shot. Let's get this done."

Hammer saw his tech-specialist nod and began to back away from the man-lift's entrance. As if on cue, long lengths of synthrope came down along with angry cries from above, "WE'RE COMING YOU REPUBLIC DOGS!"

"THINK YOU CAN TAKE OUR SHIP!"

"GONNA CRACK THOSE WHITE SHELLS YOU WEAR, AND EAT THE RAW MEAT INSIDE!"

BOOM-WHOOMF! Another explosion was heard from the deck far above.

Martel's senses are reeling from the fight they just had and the toll the wound he's sustained.  "Sithspawn!" he cursed.  "Alright, on my way.  We'll see him again sooner than we'd hope, I'm sure."
