Situation: PC's engage a speeder truck column in an attempt to rescue Kaida's sister - this is a SURPRISE round, PC have free attack.

Caden will fire at targets of opportunity while moving, hoping to distract the troopers and keep some of the heat off Kaida and Farok.
He'll cut whirl around to his left, looping around where Kresh and his men once stood in an effort to encircle the squad of troopers on this side of the road.

"They're bunched up. Use grenades!" Kaida shouted at Caden as she passed. She pulled off the metal ball, flipped the switch and tossed it behind her, and then gunned the speeder's engines. She heard the thud of the explosion and felt a wash from the orange fireball that hopefully tore into the troopers. Then she flashed towards the trooper in front of her, hoping to clip him (ooc: 24). Then she took around Betty in a wide arc for a future pass:

Move: Pilots the bike away, she'll dart it into cover of the trees to hopefully get a cover bonus.
Swift: Pulls out grenade (she was quick draw feat)
Standard: Tosses the grenade behind her trying to hit the most stormies (17, 18, 20, and 22 hopefully).

"Frack!" the Arkanian swore as the Arrow took more blaster fire. Manuevering the Arrow slightly, Abby lined up her shot on the trooper directly across from her (SO2). "Time to take out those bunched up troopers, SAMmie! PLX'em hard!"

 :ooc: Ok, thanks, just wanted to be sure that my assumptions were correct...

The old clone sniper cursed his bad shot, but as the fire in his direction didn't come again, BIT chanced another shot.  This time he zeroed in on the commander who was his nearest and best target.

Kaida couldn't have made a better attack. I regridded the map so I could see what the 2x2 burst would look like and she will successfully hit all four for four kills.

BIT hits SC1 and causes him 20 damage.




The Commenor noble raced into the group of Stormtroopers, all of whom raised their blasters to fire on her, but none saw the small grenade leave her hand as she passed. The fragmentation grenade went off in the midst and its scything shrapnel tore into armor and flesh along with the concussive pressure wave that threw them from their feet. None of the men would ever rise again.

Behind her, Farok gracefully danced between two other troopers, his lightsaber arcing in deadly swaths at each.

Only a few were aware, but with one attack the Stormtroopers lost any advantage that they had. Their ranks had been reduced by five and now they were in disarray and with no ability to communicate. Some came to the conclusion that they needed to begin a defensive retreat so that word might be able to get out.

Seeing the Jedi as the most deadly of foes, the Stormtroopers fired on him.

With autofire, you just need to achieve a 10 dice roll to do half.

Farok observed the tide of the battle begin to sway back into their favor, thought the casualties would not be light on either side at the end of the day. Focusing again on the main mission the jedi attempted to discern how to open the back of the transport. He was contemplating using the tried and true method of just slashing it with the light saber when he became aware of greater danger. In the millisecond that he had used to determine a course of action his surroundings changed and erupted into blaster fire as the remaining storm troopers fired wildly in his direction. Several of the blasts were deflected, but the old man felt at least one get through his defenses as the burning feel of blaster contact impressed itself upon him.

Betty's two cannons cracked with the sound of energy and a trooper was slammed to the ground by the barrage of blaster fire. Fortunately for the droid's other target, Betty had a momentary loss of targeting and the recoil of the weapon jerked the appendage so that the energy bolts were expended into the ground. Both troopers thanked their makers that they still stood, but they knew they had to bring the droideka down or there would be no next chance. The squad leader detached a grenade and tossed it.

Near the prisoner truck, the Trooper Commander grabbed the outside handle and hauled himself up into the cab. He hit the ignition switch and began to move the truck out of the conflict, trying to turn it around and get it back to the prison facility. Once done, he would come with a dozen more squads and hunt these insurgents down... every one.

The other squad leader heard Kaida's grenade go off with a whumph and turned to see her accelerating towards him on her speeder. He brought up his blaster and fired.

Kaida grunted from the blaster fire that slashed through her jump suit and grazed her left shoulder. Thankfully, it was not a fatal blow. Still, she gritted her teeth against the pain and nearly smashed into a tree. Glancing over her shoulder, she was relieved that her grenade had hit home and had swung the battle in their favor. For now.

Blaster fire and a grenade smattered harmlessly against Betty's shields. But how long would those hold out; she wasn't about to lose her valuable purchase! But more importantly was the cost in human life. She hated this butchery on both sides, even though it was necessary to get the enemy to yield. Broken troopers in smoldering armor and their own guerrilla force gave testimony to the cost.

How much longer could they hold out in this costly battle? Maybe she could get them to yield. She flashed the air foils to brake the speeder behind a large tree. Her visuals easily cut through the smoke, and she spotted the storm trooper commander on her thermals.

"Surrender!" she shouted to their leader. "You are outgunned, and will die on this field this day unless you yield! Lay down your weapons, and your lives will be spared!"

:ooc: Not sure if this'll work, but she'll try a persuade to get them to surrender.

Caden heard Kaida's call to surrender, and found that he hoped the Imperials wouldn't.

If they were lucky enough to get out of this in one piece, the last thing any of them needed was to be ID'd by Imperial forces - it was hard enough to get out from under that the last time, and he doubted that Artturus and his mobsters would be so... generous... again.

Caden realized he had crossed a line; he had started to become a soldier; a warrior instead of a (mostly) legitimate businessman. He found that he wasn't too fond of that.
"Now isn't the time," he thought, dismissing his contemplations until later - if there was a later.

In the meantime, he'd keep flying -- and keep firing.

 :ooc: What are some options Abby and Sam have for clearing the bridge quickly so they can cross it with the Arrow? If SAM and Abby hit the speed with missiles and blaster cannon fire, could we blow the vehicle out of the way? Can we push it out of the way using the Arrow?

Regarding the prisoner truck, is it possible for:

1) BIT to make a targeted shot to disable the engine or propulsion? (like how snipers shoot engine blocks?)
2) Kaida or Farok to jump onto (or jet pack onto) the truck and use lightsabers to cut holes into the truck top?

Abby sees the truck pulling out and knows that if it gets away, all this - all the death - was in vain. Still, to fire on the truck would be dangerous. If the prisoners within were harmed, then what was the point of it all. There was no choice, she brought the forward cab into her sights and fired. At the same time, Caden who pursued the truck from behind targeted the repulsors in hopes that he, too, could stop the vehicle.

Total 30

To Tom's question, yes, BIT could snipe 16.

As for the remainder of Kresh's people - with the carnage they see across the river, they begin to hunker down until the know the whereabouts and status of their leader. Remember, communications are down right now for everyone unless you want to try and burn through the scrambler. So, no one can really coordinate attacks.
