Situation: PC's engage a speeder truck column in an attempt to rescue Kaida's sister - this is a SURPRISE round, PC have free attack.

:ooc: Okay... recap:

The vehicles had advanced to the bridge and then the commander grew uneasy. He sent two of the speeder bikes forward to scout while he moved out on the bridge; all other vehicles were ordered to stop. The remaining two speeder bikes orbited the trucks while the other SoroSuub took up a firing position south of the road.

That is when you all engaged.

BIT sniped the driver of the SoroSuub speeder on the bridge and killed him with one shot (stormtrooper 1).

At the same time, Abby moved the Arrow out to attack and hits one of the forward speeder bikes. She immolate him (stormtrooper 2).

Kaida flew out to engage one of the speeder bikes that orbited the two trucks and dealt it damage, but it is still flying (stormtrooper 3).

Betty fired a cannon at the other orbiting speeder and blew it out of the air (stormtrooper 4).

Sam fired on the forwad SoroSuub speeder and barely hit it, causing damage but not knocking it out.

Caden fires on the rear SoroSuub speeder and causes it damage.

Farok twirls his lightsaber into both the gunner of the rear SoroSuub speeder, as well as the vehicle itself causing both damage (stormtrooper 6).

Your Salliche rebels Teams 1 & 2 both move out and fire on both trucks causing minimal damage to the armored vehicles.

Team 3 fires on the forward SoroSuub speeder and destroy it - wounding the two near it (stormtrooper 5 and commander).

Team 4 fires on the last speeder bike that is forward of the bridge and cause it damage (officer 1).


SO1, SO2 and SO3 all stand for Stormtrooper officer - squad leaders. SC1 is Stormtrooper commander - the commander of the convoy.

SC1 and stormtrooper 5 bailed out of the forward SoroSuub when it took the missile from Sam. They are alive and injured.

The dead include:

Stormtroopers 1, 2, and 4.

The wounded include:

Stormtroopers 3, 5, and 6 along with Stormtrooper commander.

Now it is a new round with no surprise...let me know if you guys need more help.

Kaida hunched over the bike's handlebars to make herself as difficult a target to hit. They had caught the imperials by surprise, but that wouldn't last. The scout trooper was now aware of her. She gunned her engines and felt the trees and branches whipping past as she moved behind the damaged speeder.

She swung behind him and fired her guns.

Caden knew that Farok needed to be close -- very close -- to engage.
It wasn't what he generally preferred, but if he could maneuver well, he'd make them a difficult target; the Imperials couldn't safely shoot at his speeder without a risk of shooting their own comrades.
He weaved his way between the vehicles as tightly as he could, firing as he did so.
The brambles just off the road might cover them when he came around for another pass, and any attempts to follow would drive their attackers into the waiting arms of Kresh's surprisingly-efficient men.
He twisted the throttle and didn't look back.

:ooc: Caden intends to zip in front of SO2 and SO3 on the map, and just behind the vehicle in front of those two, close enough for Farok to attack, while he fires as well. He'll look to curl around the left of the plant in front of the blue "B" on the map to come around in future rounds.

:ooc: Because you are reflecting both Careful Shot and Deadeye, I am going with the assumption that BIT uses 2 aim SWIFT actions to target the driver in the rear Truck. Like in round 1, the vehicle provides total cover but I am allowing the aim to reduce the total cover of the vehicle to Improved cover and then your sniper feat to reduce it further to standard cover*. All of which gives you a -5 penalty to your attack... so:

Trooper 7 (rear truck driver) has a REF defense of 19; BIT's roll of 22 -5 = 17... let me know if you want to use a Force Point to make your attack a success... otherwise, the shot is a miss.

Kaida misses her attack completely.

I need Farok's actions and then I can do all of the NPC actions. Remember, Caden goes after Farok, so if you want to take advantage of Caden's maneuvers, you will have to HOLD your attack until his initiative. This will permanently place Farok in the same init order as Caden.

*I want to clarify, too, why I am allowing these shots at NPC's inside a vehicle that provides TOTAL COVER - because they are drivers, there is obviously a windshield of sorts. It might be hardened, but it would be a weak point on the vehicle.

In the cab of the rear truck, the officer jolted at the sound of a loud crack and fizz. BIT's blaster rifle shot struck the thick, hardened glass of the vehicle and burned through it. The bolt found its next target not so unyielding - the driver's chestplate opened with searing fizz as the tibanna gas tore into his abdomen. The man's head and body went limp.

Farok pushes up and off the back of the speeder as Caden accelerates between the trucks. The former Jedi does an aerial flip and lands on the ground while at the same time reaching out with the Force to grab the SoroSuub speeder. It is his intent to fling the damaged craft into the rear truck and cripple them both. Unfortunately, the speeder itself is too heavy.

Now dismounted, Farok sees the rear truck suddenly disgorge its occupants - a whole squad of Imperial Stormtroopers. In the cupola of the SoroSuub speeder, the gunner turns his cannon in the direction of where the sniper shots are coming in from and opens up. No longer surprised, the commander sees his men performing like the professional soldiers they are.




MOVE - all Stormtroopers move
MOVE - trooper 10 pilots the SoroSuub forward
SWIFT - set weapons to auto
STANDARD - troopers fire on all visible enemies they can see, which are Kresh's people, Kaida, Caden and Farok

The ground around BIT suddenly flared into bursting chaos of fire and earth. On the north side of the road, Kresh's people suddenly discovered what it meant to be immersed in war.




Trooper 6 hits BIT for 11 damage

Trooper 3 misses Kaida's speeder

Trooper 8 hits 11 & 12 for full dmg - both kills - and half damage to TL2

Trooper 11 hits Kaida for 8 damage

Trooper 12 misses

Trooper 13 hits 4 & 3 for full dmg - both kills

Trooper 14 hits 2 for full dmg - kill

Trooper 15 hits 1 for full dmg - kill

Pretty gruesome attack for the first wave of fire... I may have to rethink this! :|

I am going to sit and watch some TV with my wife... maybe back tonight, but definitely tomorrow.

:ooc: Well... I agree, but then I don't. The stormtroopers couldn't hit Han and Chewie as they ran through the halls of the Death Star, but they sure as heck could trounce the Rebel lines on Hoth. It all comes down to who they are shooting at as to how good they are.  :)

These are standard Non-heroic NPC troopers from the book, so I am not giving them anything they don't already have. Going to post the south side attack in just a liitle bit... stay tuned everyone.

The Imperial Stormtroopers opened up on the ambushers with well-laid fire, their blasters firing on auto and each trooper converging fire with his partner. The area around the bridge was now a harrowing scene of fire, exploding earth and the screams of the dying.

Kresh and his people were not the soldiers that they were facing and the lightly armored insurgents fell quickly to the scything blaster fire. Still, they managed to rally and Stormtroopers also began to fall. Betty opened up with both of her cannons and white-shelled men died where she aimed. Kaida's squad was able to bring down another trooper on the back of a speeder bike and the unmanned vehicle hurled into the rear truck, exploding against its armored hide. Misshapen and now with a broken rear axle, the truck would not be going very far anytime soon.

While Abby saw Kresh's troops fall quickly to blaster fire, the adreneline coursing through her blood overcame the sickening feeling that tried to paralyze her with fear. Blaster fire rocked the Arrow as she brought it around to bear down on the last remaining speeder bike. Wouldn't want any of you to get away and make a report, she smiled grimly as she opened fire.

Her shot successful, Abby let out a whoop as she brought the Arrow around again. Calling up to SAM, Abby gave the droid her request, "SAM! I'm bringing the Arrow around. See if you can't get a lock down on that last SoroSuub. This poor girl can't take too much more of a beating."

The pilot of the last speeder bike, a young officer in this new Empire, made a hard turn to bring himself back around to allow his vehicle's weapon to bear once more on the Arrow. Suddenly the sky around him began to erupt with explosions of blaster fire and he was engulfed. The young soldier felt his armor melt against his chest, the agony so immense that he could not even scream and then his torso and vitals were incinerated and he was dead. The bike, now out of control, hurdled over the river and crashed with an explosive fountain of water.
