As soon as Wulfdan releases his grip, the boy tries to dart away, one hand clasped over the blood dripping from his scalp. The slaver snarls and starts after him just as the blond-haired stranger steps into his way. The slaver barely pauses, driving the butt of his spear into the stranger's stomach and stepping aside to continue his pursuit.
Moments later, the charge of the companions reaches the Viglunding skirmishers, who have drawn axes and stand ready.
:ooc: The Viglundings attack as the three men reach them:

The two sides meet with wordless cries and the sound of iron axe-heads meeting stout wood.
:ooc: Five Endurance loss for all my subjects!*
* Offer not valid for subjects of Gondorian heritage.
Hathcyn took another blow from these foes but at last was in a position to do something about it and struck out with his long spear.

The slaver narrowly avoids being skewered by the leaf shaped blade.
:ooc: Still a lazy 14 Endurance loss, though.
Crashing into the guard between him and his goal, Grimbeorn roars with the fury of blood and honor scorned. He puts his might into the blow intended to sweep the man from his path to Wulfdan.

:ooc: That's still a hit - remember, :~~: symbols just count as zero, not an automatic failure. The Viglunding raider needs a Protection Test against TN 18:
:00: 1d12 : 8, total 8
Rolled 2d6 : 3, 2, total 5
With fell hand and keen eye working as one, Grimbeorn strikes down the man before him, breaking his body and battering it aside as he falls. Blood, fresh and hot, drips from the blade of Bear Claw. To his left, Arbogast lets his momentum carry him forward behind his shield, the Warden's Axe sweeping fast and low.
:ooc: Nearly forgot Arbogast's action! He'll just do a basic attack as well - no need for anything fancy at this stage.
:00: 1d12 : 3, total 3
Rolled 4d6 : 4, 5, 2, 5, total 16
:ooc: A competent, though hardly incredible, hit. I'm going to say that Arbogast is too far away from Hathcyn's opponent to affect him with his magic Cleaving axe.
EDIT: Let's see if I can improve Arbogast's strike with a bonus die:
:00: 1d6 : 3, total 3
Though his attack is cunning, the Viglunding is already giving ground ahead of the Fire-watcher's charge. He stumbles backwards, the Warden's Axe cleaving air rather than knee-joints.
:ooc: Doug, you're up!
Seeing the boy still being pursued, Esgalwen looses another arrow.

(https://rpg.avioc.org/boards/Themes/default/images/dice_warn.gif) This dice roll has been tampered with!
:00: 1d12 : 8, total 8

Isnt the protection test requirement based on the Feat die roll? Or was that due to the target strike?
:ooc: I missed it at first, but yeah - it's from the Targeted Strike.
