Hathcyn's longspear hung heavy in his hand, but unwilling to forsake his lord he once more rose his spear and struck.
:ooc: Paul - if you want to pull back the Weary status on Esgalwen, I do understand.
Seeing the deep cuts across the troll's stone-like form and that the beast is staggered, Esgalwen presses her attack. Behind the monster she sees Orophin, blue and dead, and covered in reeds from the moat-bed and the woman struggles with the apparition only for a moment as the foul magic tries to confuse her mind.
:ooc: Stance :-->: continues and she attacks the Troll...

Grimbeorn sees his chance to end this mighty threat and steps up to finish it.

Bear Claw bites deep in the troll's hefty thigh, its edge penetrating the stony hide and letting its dull red blood flow forth. Try as he may, though, the mighty warrior cannot land a decisive blow. Instead, the corpse-song turns back to him, the words now in some unnamed tongue of fume and darkness. He feels the grip of the Shadow take his limbs once again as the troll frantically lashes left and right with its club, seeking likewise to end the battle.
:ooc: Grimbeorn gets a Corruption roll again (TN 14):

Rolled 5d6 : 6, 6, 1, 6, 5, total 24
The troll is attacking almost randomly here, so I'm going to let the dice generator decide who it targets this round. 1-2 = Grimbeorn, 3-4 = Hathcyn, 5-6 = Esgalwen:
:00: 1d6 : 5, total 5
:ooc: The troll 'targets' Esgalwen (TN 15):

:ooc: That's a hit, and it'll spend some Hate to use its Horrible Strength for a total of 12 Endurance lost! Poor Esgalwen is out of the fight one way or another, but needs a Protection roll (TN 14) into the bargain:

:ooc: Sweet mercy! Esgalwen wasn't already Wounded, or that would've sent her to the fate that awaits the souls of Men. As it is, she's badly knocked about. Doug, would you like to describe how?
Nimronyn sliced deeply into the Troll's hide and Esgalwen readjusted her footing for the next strike. If only she could pierce deeper into its vitals then perhaps this fight, too, would be over. She heard more than saw, as Grimbeorn's axe chopped deep, her eyes instead following the trolls great club. The monster roared in pain but brought the weapon down. The Dúnadan ducked under the sweeping arc, looking quickly to assess that the two Beorning's were not struck as well, and then she righted herself to stab her sword into the hulk's belly.
It was her gravest mistake.
The troll did not stop its swing in one direction, but quickly swept it back the way it had come. The club struck Esgalwen in the chest, as her arms were up with Nimronyn overhead. There was a terrible crushing pain and ribs were broken. She was lifted into the air and tossed several feet only to slam against one of the broken structures of the Tarn - her sword flying from her grasp, end over end, to disappear in the ruin.
Esgalwen's form crumpled to the ground and she did not stir again.
:ooc: Paul, I am not seeing an attack from Lindwine in this round. She would be the last in the order prior to the Troll attacking, and thus if she gets a kill shot, Esgalwen would not suffer her wound - right?
I will make the roll, but you let me know where it falls...

:ooc: Full disclosure: I completely forgot about it. I assume she's been shooting at other targets that are fighting around you.
:ooc: other targets? We need to give these woodmen a class on priority targeting and selection.
Cant expect to fight Mordor without proper fire discipline.
