:ooc: Grimbeorn rushes to aid in her defense with shield well-set against attack.
He uses Defensive Stance, Protect Companion if possible.
The familiar weight of axe and shield comforts Arbogast, and he runs, shoulder to shoulder with Grimbeorn, into the firelight. Their shields linked, the two Men stand fast between Ruthiel and the Nazgul. Lifting his voice, he calls out "Begone, shade! Before you the Free Peoples stand fast and united, and so shall we ever, else be forever fallen!"
Beneath his outward bravery, though, the supernatural fear still beats at his breast.
Rise, Bandy, he thinks, willing the Hobbit to somehow hear him.
Rise and run, before you are seen...:ooc: This seems like a good time for an Inspire action (from Open stance).

Despite his brave words, the quaver in the Fire-watcher's voice is obvious to all.
:ooc: It doesn't quite seem worth spending Hope for a measly two Endurance points per person.
Rorin feels the terror of this new foe just as the Men at his side do. But he reminds himself that he is off Durin's folk, and that they are not given to flight, though they be beset by terrible things. For now, he will drive away his fear with the sound of iron on a dark rider's flesh!
:ooc: Rorin will also be in Defensive stance, ready to defend Ruthiel or his companions alike.

The Hobbit heard the Elf's words and tried to force himself to move. The thunder of the hooves pounded in his mind and the voice of the creature grated against every fiber of Bandy's being.
There was no part that he could will to move - despite the entreaty of the Elf. He tried to find shelter in the earth, yet it would not yield and hide him. The Hobbit for the first time felt the base instinct of his race that led them to burrow in the earth. This old protection mechanism came to the fore in Bandy's mind, but he could not put his will into action.
The broach pin stabbed the Hobbit and he felt the shape of the helm pressing against him. The Helm of Peace, the Fellowship of the Helm...his friends...a bow!
The tear-streaked face of the Hobbit rose and he saw Ruithel, brand in hand, beset by the wraith, and the shadows of his friends moving towards the fight. A bow, she needed a bow.
The Hobbit was now on all fours crawling to where her bow may be found.
:ooc: Hey Paul, that was a great roll for Rorin, but I am not sure if that was an attack or some other roll.
Please clarify for me, but I am going to go with the assumption it was an attack. If not, I will retcon these posts. Thanks!
• Rorin hits Ren with a :g: success for 9 END loss; he also achieves a Piercing blow which is abated by the Nazgûl's dwimmerlaik attribute. Instead, Rorin must make a Valour test

Rorin swung and his mighty hammer landed true.
The Nazgûl was nearly unhorsed by the blow, but still the Dwarf felt a terrible coldness go up his arm. Rorin gripped tighter and staved off the chill and prepared for the next attack.
:ooc: Sorry, Doug. It certainly was an attack roll. If I hadn't been posting from a phone while my train pulled in I would've added some more context.
