As the great orc gives ground, Rorin and Grimbeorn follow, pressing him hard.  The remaining orc hefts its shield, dull hatred still burning in its eyes.  It thrusts its blade at Arbogast, who moves with the blow, drawing it away from its leader before countering strike for strike.

:ooc: I'm returning my attention to the unnamed orc in front of Arbogast.  Still in Open stance.

The companions watched as Rorin jumped into the air, his war hammer held high over his head. He brought down the weapon in a savage blow that crumpled Shûkrag's metal cap and the skull that it protected.

Though nothing but shadows in the dark of night, the orc's form fell and Rorin landed over his body, panting with an angry hiss. Shûkrag did not move again.

:ooc: This orc bears a charmed life, which must not yield to one of Mirkwood born.  Arbogast's Hope is running relatively low, so I think I'll hang on to it for now.

Bandy saw his friend drop the orc leader and turned his attentions to the one remaining foe.

The feather of the fletching touched his ear and he let the dart go.

With its leader dead and remaining comrades running back towards their camp, as well as being surrounded by its enemy, the last orc dropped its weapon and fell to its knees in surrender.

"Spare me," it hissed, "and I will take word back to my camp that you come to slay us all. I will tell them that you killed mighty Shûkrag and two of his greatest warriors. I will lead the rest of my folk away and you can have the wretched captives!"

Grimbeorn wasn't having any of it.  "Leave it to the woman and her mercy.  We need to follow quickly lest the other captives are slaughtered." He looks anxious to keep moving.

Bandy thought about this wretched creature and all he knew of them. He thought about the trials and misfortunes he had suffered. He thought about the she-elf tied to the post and the suffering of all the folks of the vale. Finally, he thought of the unknown meat and drink of the hut and what they were going to do with the women when they got the Gundabad.

The Hobbit took a few steps closer,

"This is Wilderland, and you should never have come here."

He put an arrow in the creatures eye before any of his other comrades could speak.

"Only when none return will the Orcs stop coming. So I have read and so I have learned."

The Shire was far far away.
