And then, the light faded in his hand. Bandy looked up to see the troll's eyes go from a look of terror to that of sheer hate. The monster brought down his fist to smash the small hobbit.

:ooc: The troll has initiative, so it goes before Bandy can escape...

Even as Bandy was struck by the large, club-like fist of Todar, Esgalwen shoved with all her might into the crack that had been made between the rocks. She made a small prayer to the Powers that were spoken of of old, and hoped that they still heard the words of mortals.

:ooc: Esgalwen wedges the stone...

TN 14 athletics 1d+4*

Rolled 1d6+4 : 1 + 4, total 5

*bonus for using a prying implement

:ooc: RESULTS

• Bandy is struck for 7 END loss, he is now WEARY

• Esgalwen is successful and adds another 14 to the aggregate 74 / 80

Smaller rocks began to clatter down as the main load-stone was moved a little more. The roof above Bandy and the troll also began to shift, and there was an awful sound of creaking. The Hobbit looked up, even as he recovered from the troll's attack and wondered if he might escape. There was no way he would survive the smashing weight of the timber above him.

Moving quickly on weary feet, Arbogast dashes to the mouth of the hut.  He sees Bandy's pained expression as he staggers toward the gap between the stones.  As the troll steps forward, clearly hoping to drag the Hobbit along to whatever fate awaits its soul, he lunges in and grasps his small friend's hand...

:ooc: Another athletics roll:
Rolled 1d12 : 9, total 9
Rolled 2d6 : 5, 6, total 11

... and pulls him to safety as the walls of the hut finally give way, filling the air with noise and dust.

Bandy is covered in the beaten dust created by the thrashing troll. Stone flakes and bits fill his hair and darker spots where the debris has mixed with the blood of the Hobbit. The Hobbit rolled over onto his back as the structure began to come down.

"I'll have a bit a lembas I think," said the Hobbit unmoving.
