Esgalwen breaths in a noxious vapor and immediately regrets it. She feels suddenly faint and her body is wracked with pain. A Woodman to her right cries out in pain as he is gored by one of the creature's large tusks, and she struggles to clear her mind. She knows that if she falls in this dell, she will not rise again.
:ooc: Esgalwen moves to Open and attacks B4

Morirúsë positioned himself to be able to bring the sword down on one foe, and with the length of the blade cut one of its companions.
"Atanatári, auta i lómë!"
In another blur his two hands brought the sword down upon the beast again.
:ooc: Morirúsë will attack B2. He will be using his Wrath of Fingolfin ability to Intimidate Foe from a forward or Open stance and still make an attack, he will also be using his sword two handed.

:ooc: B4 was the target.
As his heart pounds in his chest, Arbogast finds the onslaught of the
fágwyrmen carrying him away from his kinsmen. He feels the burning of their poison on his skin and tries to hold his breath as much as possible, though his lungs burn with the effort. He finds himself listening for the voice of Bandy and the sound of arrows hitting flesh, or the deep-voiced grunts of Rorin as he swings his hammer, but these familiar things are not to be found. Instead, Morirúsë moves like a dancer through the melee, brandishing a sword that glows like moonlight in the shadows of the forest and calling, clear-voiced, in a tongue the Fire-watcher knows not at all.
But there is no time for wonder or admiration, be it ever so grudging. Arbogast knows not whether the basilisks will fight to the death, but they have not broken off their attack. He raises the Warden's Axe once more...
:ooc: I'll keep attacking B1. Any cleaving damage goes to B2.

... but his bloody purpose is undone as the mist roils and a ghostly shape seems to lunge for him. He brings his shield up quickly to ward off an attack that never arrives, and finds that the moment to strike is past and a basilisk is fast upon him, reeking of poison and doom.
:ooc: So... B1's next attack will be a called shot, which probably means more poison.

:ooc: Okay...Tom and Paul (Matt, I'd include you, but I am not sure how many books you have for TOR).
Called Shots by monsters/bad guy...do they mirror normal called shots?
For a PC to do a Called Shot, they announce it before their attack and they must score at least 1 :%: to achieve the special effect.
Is that the case for enemies, too? Or do they need only achieve the TN to hit the PC? Do they still cause endurance loss if the called shot is not effective?
If the Called Shot does hit are the affects automatic, too?
A basilisk called shot results in a pierce and poison. Does Arbogast get to make a protection test?
If no protection test, or if failed - is this considered 2x wounded for the piercing attack and poison (which is a wound)?
I am posting on C7's web forums, too, but let me know your thoughts.
:ooc: I got my answers on this.
On with the show....
:ooc: Quick question - is this fight happening in a sufficiently wooded area for Arbogast to get his Woodcrafty bonus? If so, his TN to be hit is 21 (though I'll take the basilisk's last attack, since I specifically said he was distratcted).
:ooc: Yes, the area is wooded.
But Arbogast did not get hit this round.
I'll get the new combat round up in a bit.
