:\ I am reading through the books at the moment trying to fuel some mental fires. I am truly out of story at the moment and I am running tangential arcs... i.e. instead of pursuing a Sunstead arc, what if Arbogast goes to Mountain Hall to check on his sister...the last he heard there had been a collapse in the mines and folks had died; or what if we pursue the northern arc and the slavers that had established north roads to Gundabad; or something... or the Elftower... or...

I have all of 2955 to use up.

Skirmisher [if carried encumbrance is 12 or less, increase Parry by +3 when in close combat stance]

Doug,
As an option, what about shinning the light of narrative on the Forest Road. We have all been spending a lot of off camera time up there, what if we shined a light on the people and places up there? I know we just did the mirkwood spider thing, so maybe a political or social quest?

I am auditing the Fellowship phase right now to sum up the YEAR END and update the Fellowship page.

What did I say I was doing with the Road restoration? Did I say that there needed to be 5 Undertakings committed per step? Looking back through this thread for that info, right now too.

Lastly to your point - sure, I like that idea. Gimme some time to put my thoughts around it and read the books on the area. I have the brigands, the dwarves, the elves, and all these men so it should make for a good social intrigue...

We shall see.

No posts yet (obviously)...

I am still waiting on some Middle-earth guidance to shine down on me. The forest is the number 1 nemesis of this entire region, but I am tired of giving narrative about travel through Mirkwood.

This weekend will kick off our new chapter.

Other potential stories:
- Hobbits looking for escorts across the Misty Mountains, and potentially all the way to Bree.
- Trouble stirs in the Nether Vales as Mogdred consolidates his new rule over the Toft, potentially clashing with the Leofrings.
- The River Folk brought treasures from the south, some of which lay under a powerful curse that now plagues the folk of the Vales.  But which trinkets are the cursed ones, and can their new possessors bear to be parted from them?

EDIT: plus, of course, whatever you were thinking about doing on the Eastern side of Mirkwood - I'd still be interested to go there, if only to see what Esgalwen's been up to!

Further fleshing out: it's time for the contests on the Field of Heroes, and both the great and wise and the up-and-comers among the Woodmen have gathered.  But what is this?  Men of the Toft approach, claiming that the non-recognition of the folk of Tyrant's Hill among the Woodmen does not apply to them.  Mogdred isn't among them, but will doubtless hear of how his new subjects have been received...

Okay - Endgame is out of the way.

I am sitting at my computer and starting to put some pencil to paper and get our story moving.

I like the ideas, so I am deciding which to use.

Tom and Matt, just to sound off, are you planning on posting more or shall we let Doug give the story a kick along?

I am planing on moving it along here either tonight or tomorrow, Paul.

I think they both gave their intro narratives.

Sorry guys, I have had zero time or focus for games. I have some training I have to go to, I'm moving, and I'm working in getting released from Active duty and back into the Reserve, and looking for a job.

I don't think I had more to add unless Beorn has something to say.
