That's a ! Beorn isn't the usual type of leader, he offers his protection but doesn't ask for obedience, everyone is free to accept his "rule" or stay independent.
Roderic has indeed heard about refugees some two years ago. They didn't stay for more than one harvest though. Rumor has it that they left out of superstition after they learnt they were in fact under the protection of a skin changer and tribes of bear speakers.
Roderic doesn't know exactly where they came from. However, considering they descended from the north, options are few ; hillmen from Gundabad (not good, most used to follow willingly the witch king), northmen from the vales of Gundabad (slightly better), or from the upper vales of the Anduin (mostly independent clans, and occasional slavers led by a powermonger named Viglund).

Yes I'll spend my bonus dice not sure which skill I'd use. I was being quite polite about it so likely courtesy if that's okay?

if i remember well you rolled Courtesy early but maybe I read wrong. I'd say Courtesy or perhaps Inspire considering what's been said.

 
I did roll courtesy earlier. I'll roll ny bonus d6 to add incase I get a greater success.
