:ooc: Perhaps Roderic knows more than he first thought! Is there a sheet somewhere to tell me the code for the rune symbols? How do you embed the die rolls?

:ooc: That's a :g: ! Beorn isn't the usual type of leader, he offers his protection but doesn't ask for obedience, everyone is free to accept his "rule" or stay independent.
Roderic has indeed heard about refugees some two years ago. They didn't stay for more than one harvest though. Rumor has it that they left out of superstition after they learnt they were in fact under the protection of a skin changer and tribes of bear speakers.
Roderic doesn't know exactly where they came from. However, considering they descended from the north, options are few ; hillmen from Gundabad (not good, most used to follow willingly the witch king), northmen from the vales of Gundabad (slightly better), or from the upper vales of the Anduin (mostly independent clans, and occasional slavers led by a powermonger named Viglund).

Tyrôk, having observed all in the hall, asks of his Master "Master Gibor. I have heard a few stories that contain the veriest remnants that might speak of Eorl the Young leaving the lands not far from ours to the Fields of Celebrant. You no doubt know more, but I wonder if, on a more practical level, either yourself or Master Dori might have heard of the people that Mistress Edelyn has said she is from?"

He sits back on the stool, knowing that he is being both hopeful and presumptuous, but if you never ask, you will never learn

"Few more unfortunately. The city in ruins she referred to might be Framsburg, once capital city of the Éothéod as they were then called. We know that while they dwelt in the north, they were great horse tamers - and that they remain still - and of course we all know the tale of King Fram the dragonslayer. Hey, are those mashed parsnips ? Hand over ! What happened to the people they left behind we can only guess though. One thing's for sure, it will difficult for them to prove anything. The Éothéod relied on bards and tale tellers to preserve history, and I doubt these people there did otherwise."

Anarion

"If you may your highness. I've read the histories and heard song and tale told of your peoples ancesters. What she says is true, not all of Eorls people came south with him many settled in the vales of the Anduin to the north. She's kin to you, the same that my people had kin of their own to the north seperated by different paths but connected by a common root." He says giving the woman a smile before turning his attention back to the king. "Maybe there's something to be done or to be investigated on this matter. If you need me in any capacity I'd be happy to do so Thengel King." He then says bowing his head to the king. "It is the duty of all the free peoples to ensure that no actions taken by the enemy or his agents go unanswered."

:ooc: Do you wish to spend your bonus dice in case you get a Tengwar, or do you keep it a regular success ?
Don't forget to tick the box for Advancement Point ;-)

Anarion

 :ooc:
Yes I'll spend my bonus dice not sure which skill I'd use. I was being quite polite about it so likely courtesy if that's okay?

Gárulf listened to the debate back and forth of these mighty lords in their golden hall, but always did the vision of Edelyn's starving people come to mind.

He thought of Marda and how she died upon the fields of Rohan - her home - where these mighty lords were to offer protection. It got the better of him and he spoke.

"T'would seem our new queen has the right of it that these folk should be shown our hospitality, if naught else. They have traveled far and are hungry...surely we can determine if they are Dunlanding spies after they eat and are made warm?"

Faces turned to look at Gárulf, after his gruff words, and the man felt suddenly alone.

That's three cumulative successes so far.

He looks to the man who spoke of feeding and warming the refugees and gives him a nod. "As your kinsman said. We should warm and feed these people, talk with them more and get to the bottom of what has happened. This is your first test as the King of Rohan. Do you want your people to know you as a wise and just king? Or a cold and cruel one?" He says looking towards King Thengel hoping his words would inspire the king to take a stance on the situation.
