Kaida felt numb. This was the second companion that she had grown to appreciate, if not truly like, that had been killed before her eyes. Memories of Britton came to her and the coldness of it all replaced the warmth of the jungle. Before her stood a large man-shaped thing with mottled skin and glowing yellow eyes. Its hood was back far enough for her to see that the Bando Gora also wore a terrible skull mask over its face. It looked tremendously strong even as it got into a new stance to attack.
So Logar was dead; another fallen companion for Caden to mourn. That made four now since he first arrived on Bakura. He was tired of counting.
"This had better be worth it," he whispered as he turned his weapon on the soldier that killed Logar and now moved toward Kaida.
:ooc: Caden will fire off as many shots as he can at the approaching soldier while making an effort to stay out of the snipers' sights.
BIT heard what happened and only had a moment to see one of the group go down. He knew that he had remove any additional threats to the others across the ravine. So steadying himself even under attack, he blasted the sniper off the roof.

It took a moment, seeing Logar's skewered form twitching there for it to register to Kaida that Logar was probably dead.
"No!" she shouted. "We have a man down! Logar! No!"
Not again. Not again. Not again. Over and over, the words bounced in her skull. Quick as she could, she ran over to him and pulled him away with one arm from the masked attacker, and knelt beside him, letting Farok pass her by. She removed his helmet and saw Logar's blood covered lips move one final time, his eyes lock with hers once before those eyes glazed over in death.
Kaida pounded his chest once with her fist hard. She knew instinctively that things had gone from bad to very very bad, and if they didn't do something quick, Logar's form wouldn't be the first of their team to dot this landscape. The red irrational part of her brain yammered at her to lash out, go crazy with anger and destroy this being that had killed one of her team. The cold logic of the situation told her doing so would be her death. That
thing had moved with inhuman speed and strength.
She prayed Farok and Brim could handle these beasts. Growling she aimed again at the sniper and fired at its head.
