The warrior priestess now in the fit of her calling drove her holy weapon cleanly down and across through the zombie, severing its torso from skull to waist. The two halves slipped apart and the thing fell dead, although a terrible reek now permeated the entrance hall.
"Strength my friends. Darkness most foul indeed." As his companions rushed to meet the shuffling zombies, Jeremiah rifled off a prayer for his lord. He cast darksight and moved to the hole the priest had gone down and peered into the pit.

Jeremiah looked down and saw a room that was a mix of a library, personal sanctuary, and a laboratory. He could see the remnants of what looked like a table - broken straps hung on either side. Large scratches were rent into the wood and what appeared to be a corpse lay close at hand, and it was not moving.
The cleric continued to scan the lower level as his friends fended off the zombie assault. Down below, something large moved through the shadows but he only caught the briefest glimpse and all Jeremiah knew was that the thing walked on two legs. The fallen priest could be heard mumbling still but then his voice changed into a whimpering cry, "NO, DORU! NO!!"

Kal'Phayne was accustomed to darkness. The ranger had spent his entire life in a dark wood, under the dark cowl of his hood.He watched Jeremiah step over to look down into the pit, and snickered at his words. The fool it seemed would never shut his hole for more than a few heartbeats. The elf had known few humans and even fewer dwarves and more than once had questioned himself over the past few days, how had Shal and he found themselves saddled with the blowhard cleric and greedy little Crum? Alas they were here and he was also accustomed to living in the moment. He didn't know if the plain arrows left in his quiver could hurt these denizens of death. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to try. He stepped from the shadows to just behind Ashlyn and let fly his arrow into her target.
