Undeterred from her previous failed shot, Esgalwen continued to send arrows at the remaining troll.

:ooc: Well that is pretty. If only that 6 had been a 10 or :g:, too, it would have been a perfect shot!
Esgalwen has a :%: :%: success for 19 :<3: loss.
Gwaithlim sees the others furiously knocked about and can only continue the barrage from his vantage.

Ugh *kicks ground petulantly*
The ground is scored by the feet of the men as they are knocked about by the hideous strength of the troll. The mists strangely deadening the sounds of the conflict from a distance, but also in a strange way making them louder and more intense for the participants.
A swat of the troll's palm lays Hathcyn flat on the ground, and frantically he rolls aside to avoid the crushing follow-up attack that shakes the earth and sends stones rattling down the bluff. Taking advantage of a momentary gap in the mists, Esgalwen lets another shaft fly, this one finding a home in a craggy buttock and drawing forth an ear-shredding bellow of pain. Turning to face the direction of this attack, the troll sees only Arbogast, whose eyes widen as it lurches toward him, arms extended to tear him limb from limb...
:ooc: The troll will drop a Hate point on Hideous Toughness again, reducing the Endurance loss from Esgalwen's arrow to 10 (still a worthy shot!). And then it'll attack Arbogast (TN 21):

Rolled 4d6+9 : 2, 1, 3, 2 + 9, total 17
Incredibly, however, the Fire-watcher deflects its first blow and then finds a momentary shelter beneath an outcrop of stone that, though it shatters under the force of the troll's fury, allows him the time to draw back out of the beast's reach and ready his axe once again.
:ooc: Huzzah for a :g:!
