Arrows continued to crack into the parapet around them but Durgil could see that they were finally making headway against the enemy below - the number of archers that remained were only four. Suddenly, two more swordsmen appeared out of the watch tower, running towards them along the battlements.

Durgil turned to see the two guards and knew they would soon be a threat. Making a rash decision, he dropped his bow and drew his new dwarven sword.

"Finish off those archers, I'll deal with these two!" and he charged with a cry, "For the Crown and the White Tree!"

Seeing his commander run off towards the oncoming men, Daelhun followed his lead changing his own weapons and chased after Durgil.

The two Dúnedain met the Easterlings and Durgil's attack drove one to his knees, while Daelhun attacked and feinted against the other. The easterner that fought Durgil forced himself back up and parried away an attack but then the young noble grabbed his tunic and pulled him off balance. With a foot to his enemies stomach, Durgil shoved and kicked out at the man and the Easterling fell backwards off of the parapets. He landed hard on the frozen ground below and did not move again.

Then it was over... the Easterling fighting Daelhun saw his comrade die and the two angry men before him. It was too much, and the young man did not want to lose his life as well. He was far from home, in a strange and cold land, and he realized that he would probably never see his own land again. But the desire to try overwhelmed him and he dropped his sword and raised his hands in surrender.

Durgil looked about him and saw that his men were squinting out into the darkness to find one remaining Easterling archer and a warrior that was now his prisoner. One of his men lay dead and another was badly wounded, but he and Daelhun had done it... they had successfully taken the rear area of the castle! The young noble brimmed with pride, but then returned to his duty and issued orders. He and warriors went to the tower to the east and two were ordered to take the stairs down into the courtyard and find the remaining archer. He then saw to his wounded, all the while Daelhun watched their prisoner.

Edrahil looked to his left as the Dúnadan soldier, Dirnhael had sent to them, climbed up to the broken bridge. The elf could immediately see the mortal wound the man bore - though he might not have known it himself. An arrow had pierced his link armor and was buried deep in his chest - blood covering the front of him and getting worse with each beat of his slowing heart.

The elf stared, now in a quandary - the soldier needed his healing hands but his dwarven comrades were now hard pressed within the corridor entrance of the donjon. As he reached the top stair, the man slumped down to sit, his arms hanging limp on both sides and his weapon loose in his hand.

Although the fighting had ended behind the donjon, within it things had taken a turn. The Easterling guard had been blinded by Edrahil's magic, but as the dwarves moved in on them, two men walked into the hall from both the left and right.

"I am Arkish!" he yelled, "And you shall suffer by my hand this night!"

Both Lûnduf and Nain could see in his hand a cruel looking sword that glowed with an un-earthly light. From the other side of the hall, the other man had stepped and he was also armed and girded for combat.
Many of his men had been lost so far, though he was unaware, but the time they had given him had allowed he and his second to gather their armor and weapons. Now ready, Arkish, the Ashâktur, stood before his attackers. He only hoped that his men upon the battlements outside fared well and that his messengers had gotten through.

The Ashâktur and his henchmen moved forward between their men, allowing them room to stab on either side with their great polearms, and savagely attacked the two dwarves that were trying to invade. The large hallway was filled with swinging swords, axes and long stabbing spears. Nain and Lûnduf were both unprepared for the ferocity of the attacks and both were cut and stabbed.

In the heat of the battle that ensued the cuts from the sword of his foe barely registered to Nain.  He threw himself into his onslaught against the east man with all the fury that a dwarf could muster.  In a moment of insight he stepped to the right around this henchman to put is body between Nain and the pole arms.

Durgil, proud of the accomplishment, being his first real command success in battle, he returns to earth remembering his duty and his men.  Seeing that everyone is moved to the safety and security of the tower, Durgil awaits the return of his warriors after dispatching the archer.  "Daelhun, give your horn a triumphant blast to let our comrades know we've been successful and prepare the prisoner to hand over to one of others -- our blades and bows may be needed elsewhere."

First of all, you guys are forgetting to add in your Specialty bonuses. I keep writing on these posts that your character sheets only reflect the score of your skills (Attrinute Modifier, Skill Ranks, and any Misc Mods from Edges, Order Abilities, Racial Abilites, and Magic Weapon Bonuses). I also added in your Size Modifier Stefan.

Dalehun put the horn to his lips and trumpeted their victory into the night. He and Durgil then ran forward, down the length of the parapets towards the gates. Behind them followed two of the Dunedain soldiers - the scout and one other left behind to guard their prisoner.

Edrahil felt sorrow in his heart as he turned from the fallen Dunadan warrior that sat atop the stairs, knowing that his dwarven comrades were still alive and very much in need. He leapt across the span and prepared another spell his hand begining to glow with a pale blue and static arcing between his finger tips.

This round is almost done except Nain needs to parry the following:
TN's 16, 12, 13, 12 and 14!   Good luck man...

And DIrnhael needs to attack, along with his fellow warrior - then the Easterlings they are fighting need to attack - if they survive.

Durgil and Fengel will assumably be moving back towards the entrance to the Donjon - Fengel will need to Full rounds to get there, Durgil will need three.

OOC:  I think that you forgot to roll damage for one of the guys that hit me, #30.  I'm not trerribly clear on this whole parry/multiple actions penalty thing so I'll do my best to write everything out and please correct me where I'm wrong.

Daelhun puts the horn to his lips and lets loose a loud roar from the device.

Dirnhael sees the fear in the two tower guards' eyes as Dealhun's horn bleats through the chill night air. The sound of it heartened Dirnhael until he heard the shouts of surprise below. The corona of Edrahil's spell faded into the periphery as he cursed himself for leaving them.

As the guards raised their swords to strike at him, Anduring flew in his hands as if had a mind of own. He would not fail them now.

OOC: If this attack isn't necessary, then Dirnhael's going to try and get down to the ground ASAP.  If he hasn't dispatched them both with three attacks, I'll take a fourth one, if possible.

As Anduring fells one man, Dirnhael sends the other off the tower with a swift kick. He espied the scaffolding on the edge of the parapet. He blanched for just a moment as he peered over the edge - but he needed to get to his men. Now.

He tied off the rope, nodded to the soldier with him, and pulling the sleeves of his jerkin down to protect his hands - he let his own weight take him towards the fray.

OOC: We've got to get everyone into that fight ASAP and find a way to pull Nain and Lunduf out of there before something very bad happens.

Either flood the room or bail out and meet them on the castle grounds, but if we just let them swing away at our guys, we're hosed.

If it's safer - even for one round - to have Nain, Lunduf and Edrahil turn tail and haul *** out of there, let's do it. Fengel and Dirnhael can be there quickly, and the other guys should be around the back soon enough.

Just stay alive any way you can right now until we can get some healthier guys up front.
