 OOC: Going to roll actions for Lunduf-

Hearing Dirnhael's command, the dwarf ran up the stairs that led up to where Edrahil stood. Once there, he looked across the broken bridging at his kin chopping madly at the doors of the donjon.

"Two axes were always better than one," said Lunduf gruffly, and he leapt across the broken span.

ACTIONS 1 and 2 - RUN AND JUMP
Jump +3, Dim Light -3 TN 10

Roll(2d6)+0: 3,6,+0 Total:9 (1 Courage)= 12 SUCCESS

Dirnhael and the soldier ran up a set of stairs that wound along the wall of the tower towards the night sky above. They came to a second floor and found it lit by a few candles and a fire within a hearth, but the chamber was empty. They continued up the stairs towards the open hatch in the ceiling and the men that waited above. To the west, Fengel discovered the same as he climbed the tower to remove the Easterling that was raining arrows down on he and his freinds.

 OOC: Even though you guys do have the initiative on these guys, I am still going to allow them to have changed weapons as they would have heard you guys coming up the stairs.

Edrahil prepared his spell for he could see that the door would be down soon.

Nain readied his axe for another blow to the heavily damaged door when, of a sudden, they swung inwards and men from inside shoved through the gap with long polearms. Both Nain and Lunduf had little maneuvering room on the broken span and both were hard pressed to counter the attacks.

 OOC: Nain and Lunduf will need to perform a TN 15 Acrobatics (Balance) test or Swiftness. On a failed roll, the character will fall off the bridge, ten feet below. If they fall, they must make another Acrobatics (Tumble) TN 10 or suffer 1d6+1 damage (no armour). These tests are necessary only if there is a successful hit by the warriors stabbing out with their polearms.

Initiative - (5+4)+2=11

Durgil turns to see that two guards have appeared near his men and will become an threat soon.  Making a rash decision, he drops his bow (free) and draws his new dwarven sword (1 action).  "Finish off those archers, I'll deal with these two!" and charges (2 actions) down #16 with a cry of "For the Crown and the White Tree!"

OOC: Do we have a dim light penalty if in hand-to-hand?

Hey Matt,

Yes... the Dim Light penalty is in effect for any combat that is not taking place within a tower, on top of a turret tower (they have torches burning around) or in the donjon itself.

Quick question, do you want to resume your role as Steve Darkan? I am going to run an episode of Star Trek at the end of this chapter of LOTR.

"Protect me with your bows my friends!  I go to fight the way that I was intended, with sword in hand!"  Daelhun yells this to his comrades as he slings the arrow and draws the sword, moving to put himself between the two enemies on the wall and his friends, buying time until he could move and engage them both.

OOC: If I can move and get into melee with them let me know and I'll mend my post!

Fengels initiative this round:

Roll(2d6)+0: 1,2,+0 Total:3 for the love of the gods that sucked

Continues up the stairs of the tower and confronts his easterling foe....

GandalfOfBorg

OOC: Sure thing :)   btw what happened to the other Star Trek game?

If using my last point of Courage, making 11 a score that would hit the Easterling, I would like to spend it.  If not, I won't spend it.

Hey Shawn, since you had been gone, I had posted your attack for this round earlier with a bow. You killed Easterling #18. If you want to change that result to close with the incoming swordsman, let me know.

Hey Carl, you forgot your initiative Bonus of +3 and you can go ahead and make your defensive rolls or take the damage from the hits that I rolled in the post above. Then you can roll your attacks...

Great Matt - we will be re-starting it in the next few weeks, as for the other ST game... the narrator disappeared.

And yes, you can use your last courage to make the attack a success.
