Situation: The companions are defending Ferthald's steading from a pack of wargs that have breached the walls.

Combat Advantage dice:
• Esgalwen 0/0
• Hathcyn 0/0

Situation Modifiers:
• The foes have the initiative.

Physical Modifiers (complications):
• There is a limit to how many fighters can be supported by the roofs, though you're not certain exactly how many will cause a collapse.
• A character can use a long spear to attack foes on a roof from the ground (or vice-versa) with a -2 penalty to hit.
• The Fellowship's followers are also engaged fighting other Wargs.  Periodically, each companion will need to make a Battle roll to determine casualties.

On the roof of the old granary, there is a scream as one of the archers, unable to block the savage, snapping maw of the warg that assails him, is dragged down.  His companion avoids the roof just as another massive beast, its grey muzzle almost shining in the moonlight, lands with a thump and a fourth follows on feet almost silent.

The sudden cries of Men in the night rouse Gwaithlim from his reverie with a start.  They are here! comes his thought, and swift on its heels they are here, and I have chosen the wrong place!  As fast as his feet will fly, he makes for the sounds of battle.

Scenting fear and uncertainty, Esgalwen's foe presses its attack, darting forward with jaws agape to seize legs and mangle flesh.

Esgalwen rolled when she hit the ground, coming up on her feet and standing at the ready. The warg was fast and leaped down at her, but its landing was awkward and its teeth snapped on empty air. The Ranger swept Nimronyn in an arc with the warg's neck as her target.

With a blade ensorcelled by the Elves, and a skill born of many hard and desperate battles, Esgalwen cleaves they fur, muscle and bone as if they were water, slaying the warg instantly.  Atop the granary, the newly arrived wargs eye her and crouch, judging the leap down to engage.

:ooc: That's right, Tom.  From the sounds of it, more will be leaping up soon.

Hathcyn judged that the attack on the granary was not a feint as more wargs leaped upon the roof to find a purchase within the steading.

The Beorning donned his helmet, the sprig of leaves as crisp as the day they were cut. Placing the silver ram horn to his lips he blew a clear note and swiftly moved into the scene of action.

Though the wargs are fearsome and the night dark, the sound of the horn of the Longspear is known by all who follow the Fellowship, and it is answered by the war cries of the Beorning clans, and folk of further afield, as Men gather about him one by one.  Esgalwen, buoyed by the knowledge that her friends are near, straightens her back and flicks the blood from the blade of Nimronyn

:ooc: Tom, you didn't specify exactly what kind of maneuver Hathcyn was pulling off, so I've interpreted it as Rallying, in which case Esgalwen regains two Endurance.
