"Enough, beast!" shouted Esgalwen above the din. "I have faced your kin far greater than thee and have survived. I shall not be worried by you!"

She rolled forward to bring her weight into a forward stab straight at the warg's breast, Nimronyn dripping the dark blood and cold rain of one of its fallen kin.

Her sword entered the warg's chest and stove deep into its heart. Esgalwen's momentum carried her back up onto her feet, even shoving the beast backward on to its side. It rattled with a death tremor, as the women drew Nimronyn clear of the wound and back up into a sweeping stance.

Esgalwen's hair was wet and hung matted on her face, which was now covered with mud and gore from the fight, but she looked very much the grim warrior - daughter of the blood of Númenor. She stood strong as the folk of the vale moved now to reach the steading.

Barely has the still-slavering warg cast aside the mantle of Luindîs when Hathcyn is upon it, strong hands driving his spear into its flank.  As the Elf watches on, eyes still wide with terror, its legs give out beneath it.  Hate still burning its eyes, its breathing swiftly slows and stills, leaving one more charnel mess in the mud and rain.

:ooc: Matt, Hathcyn managed to finish off the last warg before Gwaithlim's action, so I'll let you change what he's done if you'd like.  To refresh your memory, the Beornings and other Men following you have largely fought off their wargs (though not without losing a few of their number) so there's a pause in the fighting, though there are absolutely more wargs (and warg-riders) waiting in the rain, not far away.

Looking around at the carnage in the mud and slop, Gwaithlim notices that the remainder of the foe holds back, waiting for their moment to strike.  "Grab the wounded and get them to a place of shelter.  Keep a wary eye, the others may take an opportunity while we are unawares."
