Bold are Laeral's words, and bolder still her bowshot!  Alas, the Haunter is daunted by neither, and merely redoubles its attack, raining such a torrent of blows down upon Arbogast, body and mind, that his old shield rings like a bell in the gloom.  As the last droplets of flaming oil sputter out, the wraith lands a heavy blow on the Fire-watcher's helm and the Woodman, all strength gone, joins Hathcyn prostrate on the platform. 

A few planks away, men drop down through the trap door, torches and spears in hand.  The two upon the raft can spare little regard for them, though they seem arrayed in the fashion of the Beornings...
