EPISODE 1: Operation Dark Sunset

It hadn't taken Hammer many months of combat to learn that when you were in it you slept light and kept your weapon close.  His eyes snapped open when the screaming started and he could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins as he scanned for an enemy and braced 'Vera' to fire on whatever was out there.

"Rise and shine, Derecho! We got company." Booth spoke loud and authoritative through his comm-set. "Local fauna coming in hungry from the south. These guys look big and mean."

Booth took aim at the beast closing in on his men.

Bleary-eyed Martel slept soundly, yet on a mission, this was too soundly.  Not that he didn't need it, coming in to the drop zone was little to none at best.  Martel shook his head to clear the fuzz and with the world coming into focus, he heard his team getting roused and faint thumps of the large creatures heading their direction.
