Orion attack - round 2

Situation: The Orion attack craft engages in the first round without provocation from the Columbia

Starting Ranges: Ships are currently at the following ranges...
Columbia to Orion is Short
Comandante Foscari to Orion is Extended

Situational Modifiers and Conditional Rules: The CODA system makes no reference to weapon re-charge and so I am going to apply the following rules:

• Phasers may be fired each round
• Photon/Disruptor Torpedoes need 1 round to re-charge
• Plasma Torpedoes need 2 rounds to re-charge

*So if you fire your photon torpedoes in round 1, you cannot fire again until round 3 - so be careful when you plan multiweapon fire maneuvers.

The Columbia will be affected by the Katyon Cluster modifiers for Long range for any maneuvers or attacks. The Columbia may also be affected by internal issues with the dark presences.

The Orion vessel protection has been reduced by 1, but still upgraded by ECM +2 (unless overcome by Columbia TN 27) for a total of TN 16 threshold also reduced by 1

Carryover bonuses: none yet

  Stonn will watch to see if the Orions will retreat, now that they're facing superior numbers.
If they don't, he'll order Grahm to fire phasers at them.

Operations or backup science station is fine.  Not gonna get in the way, Darkan wants to help if he can.

The Orion captain thought about his current predicament. The arrival of another Federation ship was not anticipated and made the situation more precarious. The ambush was intended to catch the light cruiser while it still navigated the dangers of the cluster, but the vessel's crew had proven to be far better skilled. And now there were two... he would need aid of his own.

"Disengage," he said quietly. "Go to warp factor 10."

On the Columbia, Marshal announced, "Captain Stonn, I am picking up an increase in their warp signature and they are maneuvering away. It appears they are disengaging."

The Foscari's science officer was coming to the same conclusion, while Darkan found an empty station and sat down to offer any aid.

Darkan smiled, "Smart man."  With a few taps of the controls, he scans the vessel's warp signature and monitor's the vessel's trajectory.  Saving them (assuming he got them), he transfers them to the Columbia for further review.

"Thank you, Mr. Marshal," Stonn replied. "stand down from Red Alert, but remain at Yellow Alert... in case the vessel chooses to return."
He looked to the Science station. "Track the vessel's last known trajectory and relay it to Starfleet Command."

"Mr. Downer, hail the Foscari," he added. "And forward my appreciation for their assistance."
